Austen Pinkerton - Austen Pinkerton If I turn my mind to it very quickly I can come up with several ideas for works aEUR|paintings, drawings, or sculptures. Sometimes ideas come to me when I least expect it, or when my mind is on other things. Ideas can be related to my current experiences, or to my feelings about things that are happening to me in my life at that particular time. Alternatively they can be related to a current interest, or something that occupies my attention at that moment, and my ideas and feelings about which Id like to share with others. A lot of my work is autobiographicalaEUR|either directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously. It is frequently very personal, and expresses events or circumstances or experiences in my life. I usually work in either Acrylic on Canvas, Crayon or Pastel, or both together, with Gouache, on card, Drawing in pencil, or Ink, or both, or with creating SculptureaEUR|for which I use fired artists clay. Cornelis Sproet - It was his dream to become a deck officer in the Netherlands merchant navy but because of family issues he had to stop his seamans career after two and a half year. He then studied at the Graphical Arts School in Amsterdam and became an industrial photographer. During that time he lived and worked two years in Paris, 21 years in Italy. After many years as an accomplished photographer he decided to become a professional truck driver. After 15 years on the European roads he retired and together with his wife moved to the Philippines, her birth country. During the years as a photographer he has built a large collection of photographs which he now uses as one source for his drawings. He is a great admirer of Pieter Breughel and when in the mood he makes drawings depicting the 1600s. ...
