Artists Describing Their Art:
Tyrone Webber - hi my name is tye I have been drawing for as long as I can remember for many years now with huge gaps in between. I recently started drawing again these last two years due to having to give up work and look after my wife wich has given me a little more time also to spend on my artwork I usually draw in graphite but secretely love to experiment with different ideas and would love to be able to paint as well as I draw but alas still under practice I try to make a statement in my mixed media works and at times have been told I do manage to stir emotions in my work which is what I do try and do I think theres nothing worse when once a work is completed then I take a look and it seems a little flat and meaningless with no soul and thats something wich I do try to avoid if I can I started mainly doing portraits but as we know the web is full of thousands of portrait artists all seem to be doing the same thing so I am trying things a lot differently one small ...
Michael Garr - I have been drawing and painting since Junior High. I enjoy quick art, impressionistic yet realistic, and minimal. There are interesting subjects all around us. My inspirations are architecture, people, light and shadow, the sea and boats, imagination... and the old masters. Get out and enjoy your surroundings. All my works are available as signed and numbered prints. I also do commission works, some examples of which are in the portfolio. I donate all proceeds to charity, and have recently teamed with SAVE THE BAY, a local Rhode Island eco-advocate organization, which receives 30 PER CENT of my proceeds. My opportunities for artistic expression have included drawing on napkins during airplane rides and waiting during my sons music lessons. In 2012 I took up oil painting for the first time, and my mentor is Lorena Pugh of North Kingstown. Ive done both Plein air and studio work in her presence, and am benefitting from the association. We have an informal group who meet and paint in Lorenas studio on Monday nights throughout the indoor season. I will continue to pursue art on a daily basis, and post the finished works here and on facebook for any and all to ...

Chelsea Noyon - I create realism. This is my passion. It doesnaEURtmt matter the medium. I both draw and paint using pastel pencils, graphite, coloured pencils, acrylics, and even digital drawing. I am a traditional artist but I also have a great love for drawing digitally. To me, digital drawing is just another medium. I love animals. I grew up with horses, dogs, cats, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, the list goes on. It was basically a small farm. This inspired me to draw animals as a career. I do custom equine and animal commissions in addition to my original work. This has a lot of meaning for me since I truly understand the love one has for their dear animal loved ones. My artwork immortalizes these wonderful animals who touched our lives so significantly....
Neal Alicakos - I always had a passion for abstract art and did many doodles when I was young. Through my school years I tried to design the year books. In college I minored in art but my majors were more geared for the business world. Although I was not in the art world for many years I always did my doodles to relieve my stress and fill in free time that I had. Now I am semi retired and want to take more of an interest in the things I like most, my doodles and abstract art work. I believe art is an expression of ones soul and mood behaviors. I used to draw mostly black and whites but find I like using colors now. Once in a while I like to combine black and whites, and the use of color in the same abstract drawing. Most times the viewer may not consider that as appealing, but I like to break boundaries as part of expression. Another medium I focus on time to time is photography. I like pictures of landscapes, seascapes, floral, and building structures. I find beauty in nature and architecture. ...

As a Painter and Graphic DesignerIllustrator, art is huge part of my life. Its a great feeling to have the ability to draw and paint what my eye can see. As an observer, I love to sketch in my A5 pads and photograph most subject matter transferring the visual information onto paper, canvas, clay or the computer. I use digital photographic equipment only as a support for my work. I draw and paint virtually everything but my passion lies with the human body. I use dry and wet medium such as graphite pencil, chalk pastel, charcoal, ink, gouache and oil paints. I enjoy experimenting with my subject. I also use the apple computer for retouching and airbrushing technique.
