Artists Describing Their Art:
Rudra Kishore Mandal - My art works are an exercise in exploration of the self, as a creature of nature; an evolution through understanding of my physical, sensual and spiritual needs. They are expressions of personal confusions, visions, emotions and realizations. They are not constricted by tyrannical rules or inhibitions. On one hand they are projections of my take on worldly matters, which often baffle and trouble me, and on the other they are personifications of my lunacies, fantasies, magical dreams, wicked thoughts and mischievous self expressions. Through their untamed and fantastic imagery, they are intimately mine, and ultimately me. From a very tender age, the constant urge to give a tangible form to my flights of imagination and emotions lead me to find different mediums of expression. Through scribbling on the walls to the art and crafts classes in school, I have evolved. During my college days, I fell in love with the translucent water color and the dark etched lines of an ink pen. The lead pencil became my closest friend. So, I am led to believe that I did not choose the medium I presently work in, but the medium chose me. After graduating as a Bachelor in Fine Arts, due ...
Jeff Turner - Hi, My name is Jeff Turner. I am 62 years old and living in Bexley, Ohio, USA. I recently retired from a career in information technology. You see, after getting a couple college degrees in fine arts from The Ohio State University, I couldnt find a job but fell into the computer field through adult education. Long story and my resume can be found on linkedin.com. I have been drawing and painting since High School. Most recently my work has taken a political theme. Since Donald Trump became president, I feel compelled to make political statements with my work. Although there are no drawings on this site, you can see some at www.jeffturnerart.com. However you got to this page, I hope you like my work. Peace....
James Parker - Painting, drawing, and to a lesser degree, photography, have been the driving creative force in my life for the past two years. The changing circumstances of life have allowed this to happen, and for this I am quite grateful. Pin and ink, liquid watercolors, acrylics, and the mixing of mediums are used for these works. My art is somewhere between reality and fantasy, with perhaps a unique style (as all are) which is slowly maturing. Much of my work I try to make light, colorful and fun, and even somewhat premitive with a touch of fantasy. Rustic little cabin scenes, and most seascapes perhaps show this best. Landscapes--mountains, trees, ocean and beach scenes, these are my favorite subjects. I prefer to work quite small. Most paintings and drawings come with wooden 11"X14" frames and hand selected colored mattes. These smaller sized works I have found to be excellent for creating pictures that are both colorful enough and detailed enough to carry an "impact". A few fine art's photographs taken back in the late eighties, some of which were published by a national calendar company in 1989 and 90 are also offered here. Those hundreds of hours looking ...
Glen Viljoen - "Art is the bias essence that prescribes emotional pleasure and displeasure toward all things. In the eye of the beginner there are many stimulants to direct the imagination, to condemn or revere. The tainted eye, mercilessly selective. Art is always permeating, compelling us to learn and to see again. A visual harmonious intuition subtle enough to act upon." ...
