  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Jorge De La Fuente - Born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, second world was starting to develop. In my origins are Spaniards, Mexicans and Italians ( My Grandfather, on my mother side, Giorgio Cessario Calvi, came from Martone, Calabria). Since childhood I was always fund of drawing. In junior high I did enjoy drawing classes given by an Architect and painter Efren Ordonez and a few years later I took a summer course on drawing with a model and basics on painting, at Monterrey Technological Institute, the class was carried out by the Architect and Archelogyst and water colorist Wilfrido DuSolier. In the early eighties I register myself in a couple painting crash Workshops at the Brownsville Art League. While allready painting I whent to New York, to the National Academy of Design, where with another five students we received instruction on Mural painting. The course lasted five weeks. Other than this scattered instructions I have evolved as selftougth. For five years in consecutive winters I got myself a job at the Texas Southmost College in Brownsville, as an Art Instructor, giving lectures on Mexican Art, under the Elder Hostal Continuing Education Program. When I had an Art Show at the Siqueiros Polyforum ...

Victor Filippsky - As a child, when I just started drawing, I was more interested in the opportunity to draw not from nature, which seemed very boring, but to depict what I could imagine, for example, some kind of fairy-tale landscape described in a fairy tale or strange creatures from mythology, so I began to work on imagination and this habit remained for life I am not constrained by nature, I can visually examine it and transfer it to canvas and paper, transforming it in my imagination. This circumstance helped me easily depict bygone eras, distant lands, historical events. I worked as an artist for almost my whole life, but my main passion was fantastic art, I want to show people that they are the smallest part of the Universe, which we owe our lives to, and show the worlds that we are unlikely to ever reach, but they are or are in our imagination that allows us to move around You want anything far and at any time...

Monica Puryear - My paintings and drawings portray personal stories, dreams and fantasies of my deep connection with nature. I frequently use animals and plants that intersect in some way to create a feeling of intimacy and mystery. I use vivid colors and rich details of my subjects in the hope of inticing the viewer into my world to discover and relish the beauty they possess. It is my intention to provide the viewer with a respite from the violent imagery that is so prevalent in our daily lives, so one may enter into a richly colored world in a moment of intense beauty....

Ron Zilinski - I have been drawing designs for thirty years. I first took an interest in spirograph but couldn't get used to the cog wheels. I doodled at first with 8.5 inch by 11 inch paper. Everyone wanted me to make them a design. I drew designs on a bigger scale and now draw on 22" by 28" poster paper. My drawings will take a minimum of 80 hours to complete. Some design drawings take me over 100 hours to complete. This type of artwork leaves no room for errors. Imagine drawing for 60 hours and make a mistake, it will show up in the drawing. There is no way to draw these designs fast and an incredible amount of determination is needed to complete a drawing. You must really enjoy it or it won't work out. Please look at my two NEW YORK MEMORIAL drawings on my website. They were drawn in memory of September 11/01. I use pens in my drawings. It is called Pen Art. I am currently looking for an agent who will handle my artwork, please contact artist. All my Originals are available for sale with the rights to them. The Originals can ...
