I predominantly use pen and ink, colored pencil, crayon and acrylic paint on paper or canvas to create art, which educates or I am focusing on the 'feel-good factor': Do not underestimate the effect of a glance at a piece of art. As one may make you angry, another one may sooth your mood or spark a feeling of happiness. And that will effect what you do in a positive way. But what does it require to initiate a certain feeling? Whereas neurobiological and psychological research provides some answers, intuition plays still key role in my exploration of the connections between colors, shapes and emotions. Aleksandar Janicijevic - I have been developing this project [urban squares] since july 2001. it consists of an intensive collection of urban square images. the photos have been taken in more than 15 countries, stitched together as 360Es panoramas and prepared in two formats, a quicktimeVR that can be viewed as an interactive movie, and some of them in a version prepared for printing at up to 20" x 150". as an integral part of this collection a classification system was developed. there are two parts to this system: categories of the types of squares and an evaluation method. by classifying and then analyzing the elements of a square, I slowly began to realize that there is a similarity between the city and a living organism. we can treat cities as entities with collective intelligence and, with the same analogy, we can recognize a system by which the urban space communicates with us. the square, as a city's "heart and soul", has the most to say, so recently I concentrated my artistic exploration on the language of urban squares. the vocabulary of urban squares is part of a complex language of art; it is a dialect with very specific characteristics. elements have ...

Nicole Pereira - NICOLE PEREIRA Nicole Pereira is a young rising artist who started producing artwork at the young age of 4. Nicole noticed that she had a gift for art when her artwork was selected in her local public school and community art competitions. The local press also started raving about Nicoles work. With encouragement from her family and friends, Nicole now devotes all of her free time to paint abstract portraits that express her feelings and emotions. Originally, she started drawing realistic portraits of individuals and celebrities, but felt that she wanted to add more. By careful reinterpretation of the portrait, the use of broad brushstrokes and vivid colors, Nicole conveys her thoughts, feelings and emotion to the canvas to create unusual artwork.
