  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Tracey Carmen - Ballet is an aesthetic artform in itself and my aim is to capture this beauty and communicate it through the medium of pencil and paper. Ballet can then enter people's homes and be a little slice of beauty on the wall!...

Ken Hillberry - In art and in life, dynamics of balance, integrity and tolerant interaction of all elements or participants ought to be see, experienced and maintained. At the same time, the challenge of affecting this balance is creatively encountering all changes and adapt accordingly. For some, the destination or pre-determined outcomes are sought more often than not. Then there are some who savor the journey, thus witnessing and enjoying developments along the way. I fall into the latter category. It's like watching the film develop in a darkroom. the image takes form a little at a time right before my eyes. The creative process, for me, is void of pressure and timeless. The ability and practice and discipline are central in my approach. My creative intent is to engage a viewer in thought and emotion, as well as, with their eyes. Using imagination, retrospect or model, my range of composition can be conceptual, perhaps impressionistic or abstract in application, but always developed to evoke an awareness and appreciation for the relative conditions in life experience and art form as I incisively or playfully interpret my experiences along the way. ...

Greg Badger - When producing artwork, it is easy to get into a routine. Comfort can become a great disturbance to the progression of an artists work. I believe that the artist must be uncomfortable and frustrated at times to create anything worthwhile. Without change, in art and in life, we become dependent on routine. Because of my philosophy concerning art, I have worked with various techniques. Many of my series have come out of devising problems for myself. I set strict guidelines to work under in the hope of maximizing conflict. My past series have included the required us of nylon string, combining two paintings into one, opposing the rule of painting thick to thin, and using prepared abstract surfaces to draw and paint figures. Every series has given me new insight into the creation of art. Producing all media from locally collected materials has become the central idea in my recent work. Using this approach, I wish to communicate the importance of connecting with our natural and local environment. Taking advantage of the renewable natural resources around us can greatly decrease the impact that we have on our global environment. Instead of buying canvas from a store, I cut down standing ...

Bridget Busutil - Bridget Busutil,google22976108fdd647b3.html Powered by View my page on Peacemaker Institute ARTIST STATEMENT. Art is a way of Life My life is about Art and reflects the multicultural diversity in which I was raised. I favour projects that mix Arts and multiculturalism and are interdisciplinary. I think that as an artist my world is not limited to an aesthetical dimension. Hopefully it goes beyond, through engaging a dialogue with the viewer that proposes discovery, criticism and reflection. Through my work I am offering the discovery of several worlds packed up in layers as in my encaustic, a sort of journey of self-discovery, as well as discovery of i?1/2the otheri?1/2 with the respect for cultural differences. The necessity is to succeed in viewing these differences as contributions to our own cultures and understand the wealth they have to offer. When I paint or teach students to draw a linei?1/2, I am aware of reaching out for a world without frontiers. Technically I wish to bridge the past to the present and show that there is a continuity in life experience that only artists are capable of showing. Keyword Optimizer ...

Kaiser Kamal - I consider my self experimental- conceptual artist .Where meaning is not absolute but suggestive. I am constantly drawing and planning .Sometimes the drawings are left in the sketchbook and other times they develop into more in-depth ideas and detailed images. I raise them in me. I may go to sleep with an idea or may wake up in the morning with a new composition. My subject matter is about people's daily experience , human and nature. My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience. In my work I try to create multiple layers .I felt that a combination of multiple layers gives deeper meanings to a painting. The process is an internal one, inspired by personal experiences and imagination. Throughout my career I have worked in many different media: drawing, painting, photography ,sculpture Mural and large scale scroll painting , Video. My latest body of work combines processes. and experience in deferent technique. I have use mixed media -like acrylic, tea dust, permanent marker,3d paint, Black gesso etc. Instead of explaining a certain piece of work - I wanted it to be ~ hopefully it can speak for itself and whatever it says to the viewer - it...

Dana Zivanovits - Dana Zivanovits was born in 1958 in Columbus, Ohio and received his art training from the Columbus College of Art and Design (1978 to 1982). After art school, he went abroad for a year and studied the art of the old masters in London, Paris, Madrid, Rome and Venice. Returning to his studio in Columbus to develop these influences into a new body of work, he then traveled to Mexico and studied the sculpture and painting of that country for an extended period. The unique and vivid colors of Palenque and Vera Cruz intensified his palette. After a period in Ohio, he then moved to Venice Beach, California where the brilliant light of the region reinforced his desire to capture effects of sunlight and atmosphere. Returning to Ohio in 1995, he has continued to paint themes deriving inspiration form sources such as world mythology, classic and B-grade cinema, literature and dreams. However his primary inspiration is direct observation from nature, versus an approach based in art theories or cultural critique. Dana has been widely represented by galleries and exhibition projects including Julie Rico and Mega Boom in Los Angeles, the Venice Art Detour, Around the Coyote Festival in Chicago ...

Timothy King - ARTIST STATEMENT and BIOGRAPHY STATEMENT I find painting goes beyond the notion that painted reality is "nothing but " a precursor to a photographic realism. Painting is a phenomenological experiment. There is a synthesis between the visual and the kinesthetic that forms a powerful third range of human perception. Human space and form are not purely optical manifestations. The painting of mass and line can provoke a muscle sense, a physical ness between viewer and the painted relationships. Hans Hoffman called this "Push-Pull". Matisse referred to this as the convexity of pictorial space. In this "meta-vision" or "minds-eye" the painter is not freed from the experience of perspective and local color and the naturalistic geometry of the objects and scenes. Rather, the painter can be liberated by the experience and knowledge of the defining aspects of human reality. Vision encompasses the obvious factors of sight along with other less obvious paths to sensing reality. Human vision is based on a plasticity of structures that tell us more than what a photograph can convey. The visual system, governed by layers of logical relationships, goes much further than a photo interpretation of reality. Painters like Courbet and Cezanne understood ...

Mr Wynne has exhibited in Thailand, the United States, Spain, Argentina, Kuwait, Korea, Ihdia, and other Countries. For your information I've lived in 8 different countries and have been around the world 5 times. I speak a few different languages, some very well; others not so well. By the way I am not a workaholic as I don't consider what I do work. I enjoy life too much. I forgot to say I am also a weight lifter as lifting weights is my Zen. When I am troubled the concentration it takes to lift makes me calm. I guess my page will probably be a little different from what people expect. Sorry I have not been uploading new work as ...

Thomas Konrath - I've always drawn, can't remember a time when I didn't. I really just enjoy doing it, drawing, or creating something 3 dimensional. Wildlife, Nature, Native American themes dominate my work. Natural materials have always fascinated me. My primary focus the past few years has been pen & ink on leather. The variations in the leather I use as well as in the barkless branches & wild grapevines I use to frame the drawings, present interesting challenges, & make each piece very unique. I produce the drawings in series, that is, each drawing is completely hand reproduced, & while very similar no two are exactly alike. ...
