Artists Describing Their Art:

Austen Pinkerton - Austen Pinkerton If I turn my mind to it very quickly I can come up with several ideas for works aEUR|paintings, drawings, or sculptures. Sometimes ideas come to me when I least expect it, or when my mind is on other things. Ideas can be related to my current experiences, or to my feelings about things that are happening to me in my life at that particular time. Alternatively they can be related to a current interest, or something that occupies my attention at that moment, and my ideas and feelings about which Id like to share with others. A lot of my work is autobiographicalaEUR|either directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously. It is frequently very personal, and expresses events or circumstances or experiences in my life. I usually work in either Acrylic on Canvas, Crayon or Pastel, or both together, with Gouache, on card, Drawing in pencil, or Ink, or both, or with creating SculptureaEUR|for which I use fired artists clay. Sculpture follows a completely different set of rules and values from two-dimensional art, obviously, I think of it as Drawing in three dimensions and I take this into account when creating mine. In all my...

Luise Andersen - Luise'Mignon' Andersen Luise'Mignon' Andersen has only recently begun to reveal her lifes work. Soon after her debut she exploded onto the mainstream art world. Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. The stories Luise'Mignon' is telling through her truly deep, layered works seem to decipher the past and foretell the future, perhaps sharing her window to other dimensions and a seventh sense. Her detailed acrylic'Mignon' series speaks to the beholder. They inspire raw emotion and ignite ones imagination. The indescribable nature of the "Duree De Ma Vie" in particular has a growing portion of the art community considering it the conception of an entirely new style. Carlos Pardo - IN SHORT: INSPIRATION: Concious and unconcious perceptions, my background, all circunstances of my life, experiences, past and present, books and newspapers that I read, films, Internet aEUR|feelings, emotions and a fertile imagination sometimes, all them aid to weave a story that will change alongside the execution of a piece. In my opinion our tradition, for thousands of years, the Arts reflect the vision of a trascendent life beyond our tangible life. THEME: Unreal cityscapes let us a special kind of plasticity. The imagination and feelings are active agents that are modeling the perceptible reality. Transcendent and oniric themes entered and remain in my artwork. In my imaginary urban landscapes there are overlaid elements of towns he has visited, some imagined, and maybe dreamed, but all with a unique feminine soul. The Town is a mother, lover, or daughter of the actions, dreams and passions of those who dwell in them or recall them in the distance. It is an idea in which wander those who have been caught up in its infinite labyrinth. PROCESS: I usually have not idea about what I will show on the surface. There is a lack of a script or previous sketch. Forms are born...

Dimitri Lazaroff - Like most artists, I work with non-verbal medium - drawing, painting, sculpture etc. - that attempt to convey things which cannot be even remotely described in words. And thats the trouble when being asked to write an artists statement. How one explains that heshe is trying to communicate the unexplainable, things that transcend verbalizing, aspects of existence or glimpses into certain conditions, the occasional insights Artists statements are not really feasible and are bound to be misleading....

Lia Chechelashvili - My works can be divided into three main categories: 1) White lines on dark background (executed mostly with gouache on cardboard): "Party", "Illusion", "Cube" are examples of this body of work. Human forms, their interaction, linear transformations of the objects, rhythmic play of construction - these are the main features of my work. In those compositions I used line as a minimalistic mean for delivering my thoughts and vision. 2) Oil paintings (oil on canvas/cardboard): "Red flowers", "Cup of decadence", "Green construction" are examples of my oil paintings, which are also based on human forms. Other works are abstract or semi-abstract; the examples are "Composition 6", "Composition 7", "Composition 14". In these works I try to deliver light, space and color. 3) Digitally embellished drawings (mixed media): This body of work is a natural continuation of my line-works. In 2000's, I began applying digital effects to my drawings. The idea was to enrich simple line and make it look more complex, thus through that complexity create a new kind of form. The examples of this body of work are "Radiant tango", "Lovers", "Autumn lovers". ...

Ken Hillberry - In art and in life, dynamics of balance, integrity and tolerant interaction of all elements or participants ought to be see, experienced and maintained. At the same time, the challenge of affecting this balance is creatively encountering all changes and adapt accordingly. For some, the destination or pre-determined outcomes are sought more often than not. Then there are some who savor the journey, thus witnessing and enjoying developments along the way. I fall into the latter category. It's like watching the film develop in a darkroom. the image takes form a little at a time right before my eyes. The creative process, for me, is void of pressure and timeless. The ability and practice and discipline are central in my approach. My creative intent is to engage a viewer in thought and emotion, as well as, with their eyes. Using imagination, retrospect or model, my range of composition can be conceptual, perhaps impressionistic or abstract in application, but always developed to evoke an awareness and appreciation for the relative conditions in life experience and art form as I incisively or playfully interpret my experiences along the way. ...

Kaiser Kamal - I consider my self experimental- conceptual artist .Where meaning is not absolute but suggestive. I am constantly drawing and planning .Sometimes the drawings are left in the sketchbook and other times they develop into more in-depth ideas and detailed images. I raise them in me. I may go to sleep with an idea or may wake up in the morning with a new composition. My subject matter is about people's daily experience , human and nature. My influences are first and foremost everything I see, feel and experience. In my work I try to create multiple layers .I felt that a combination of multiple layers gives deeper meanings to a painting. The process is an internal one, inspired by personal experiences and imagination. Throughout my career I have worked in many different media: drawing, painting, photography ,sculpture Mural and large scale scroll painting , Video. My latest body of work combines processes. and experience in deferent technique. I have use mixed media -like acrylic, tea dust, permanent marker,3d paint, Black gesso etc. Instead of explaining a certain piece of work - I wanted it to be ~ hopefully it can speak for itself and whatever it says to the viewer - it...

For your information I've lived in 8 different countries and have been around the world 5 times. I speak a few different languages, some very well; others not so well. By the way I am not a workaholic as I don't consider what I do work. I enjoy life too much. I forgot to say I am also a weight lifter as lifting weights is my Zen. When I am troubled the concentration it takes to lift makes me calm. I guess my page will probably be a little different from what people expect. Sorry I have not been uploading new work as ...

Veronica Shimanovskaya - Shimanovskaya's work is concerned with the interplay of materials, shapes and colours orchestrated into harmonies informed by personal experiences. Aspiring to simultaneously explore the poetry and semantics of the visible world, she is convinced that the the viewer will make his or her own connections. ...

Thomas Konrath - I've always drawn, can't remember a time when I didn't. I really just enjoy doing it, drawing, or creating something 3 dimensional. Wildlife, Nature, Native American themes dominate my work. Natural materials have always fascinated me. My primary focus the past few years has been pen & ink on leather. The variations in the leather I use as well as in the barkless branches & wild grapevines I use to frame the drawings, present interesting challenges, & make each piece very unique. I produce the drawings in series, that is, each drawing is completely hand reproduced, & while very similar no two are exactly alike. ...
