Artists Describing Their Art:
Shoshannah Brombacher - Art makes the world within the artist visible. Classical music, poetry, Jewish and Chassidic stories, traveling, the love for people and memories of eras gone but not forgotten, cities where I lived and worked, like Amsterdam, Berlin, Jerusalem, New York, or visitedm, lie Prague and Sicily, are the main ingredients of my art. My art is like the water of the canals of my native Amsterdam, Rembrandts city, the deeper you look into it, the more you see. A reflection of a reflection of a reflection...look, what you see is not what you see. My art contains texts and letters, lets writing come alive, and reflects my deep connection with the Dutch 17th century Masters, German expressionism, Russian art and medieval miniatures. My art is also a tribute to music and the world of the great Chassidic masters of Eastern Europe. The Kotzker Rebbe listened to a Chassidic storyteller in the street and stated He told what he wanted and I heard what I needed. That is Art. ...
Austen Pinkerton - Austen Pinkerton If I turn my mind to it very quickly I can come up with several ideas for works aEUR|paintings, drawings, or sculptures. Sometimes ideas come to me when I least expect it, or when my mind is on other things. Ideas can be related to my current experiences, or to my feelings about things that are happening to me in my life at that particular time. Alternatively they can be related to a current interest, or something that occupies my attention at that moment, and my ideas and feelings about which Id like to share with others. A lot of my work is autobiographicalaEUR|either directly or indirectly, consciously or subconsciously. It is frequently very personal, and expresses events or circumstances or experiences in my life. I usually work in either Acrylic on Canvas, Crayon or Pastel, or both together, with Gouache, on card, Drawing in pencil, or Ink, or both, or with creating SculptureaEUR|for which I use fired artists clay. Sculpture follows a completely different set of rules and values from two-dimensional art, obviously, I think of it as Drawing in three dimensions and I take this into account when creating mine. In all my...

Her breathtaking pieces have captured international interest. Nicole M. Mathieu - Difficult to talk about art as one should, first of all, feel it. What is more fantastic that listening to a piece of music, reading a novel or seeing an artwork which will transport you deeply inside. For me, Art is not a duplication of what one sees, it should transcend it. My portraits were done in this sense trying to transpose the invisible part of the model. In my recent oil paintings, I try to give sounds with colors which reflects life itself and will remind you of things that seem familiar. Last December 2011, I moved to a beautiful art studio in Paris (near Place d'Italie) and you are welcome to visit my atelier while on vacation. Please call me before at 00 33 (0)663528344 ...
Minh Hang - Through life struggle I was able to understand the profound meaning of my surrounding. Each experienced take me to a different level of awareness and a vision with wiser perspective. Art was a mean for me to coped with all the hardship and struggle in my life, each time i pickup a paint brush i went in to a trend that take me deep down to the cord of my spirituality until i feel my hand was guided by a super being, at this stage i found my sense of security. The process of creating is like a journey to discover a new self and a new world. I like to provoked the deep sense of my emotion where i can create mood that give me the excitement and energy in the process. to me, I found that black and white visually give me a pure sense of reality and raw emotion like a documentary told the story the way it is. with just a simple medium such as black charcoal, ink and acrylic to convey an idea on to a canvas through light and shadow, form and composition to form a visually excitement finish piece of art work. ...
Peter Illig - I look for images that are metaphors for our life experiences: love, desire, and making art. These paintings and drawings contain narrative content and ask questions about social issues and the swirl of images we are surrounded by. Once, the task of the artist was to portray and interpret the 'real world.' Now it is to determine if there even is a reality behind the appearance of things. It appears, more and more, that reality is created by observation. This search through the 'stuff' of the world, matter and flesh, is inherently erotic. So is the act of painting. The material world pulls at us and it seems we are always troubled with desire for it. It is our essence; we seek the spiritual through it. The visible world is the key, the path, to the invisible world. But it is 'desire' that clouds the seeking. I don't renounce matter but immerse myself to find the spiritual behind it. The edges of things and places interest me, the transition areas. I have been thinking about the 'inter-connectedness' of things, the Uncertainty Principle, the fact that there may be no'deep reality' underneath the appearances of objects, that traces ...

Stephanie Hayden - My work varies in style, i try to capture moments of my life on different canvases, from watercolours, acrylics, to montages, sculpture and my photography. Much of my work is dark & disturbing and i can attribute it to the fact that until recently i was registered blind, legally, having been born with dislocated lenses. The more vibrant & colourful works are from my later period after i had surgery to implant interocular lenses, thus i now see the world in a totally different way. This can be seen across my portfolio....
