Artwork Description:
“... namely at home is spirit. not at the commencement,
not at the source. The home consumes it…
With this work I would like to engage in a process of seriously elaborating on the relationship between dwelling and home. Doing so will be a continuation of my earlier work, especially my interpretation of questions concerning the impacts of sequentialization on person’s self-understanding versus sequentialization of the body in ‘the same and the equal’ and ‘the Epiphysis’. As a point of departure I will focus on Heidegger’s interpretation of the romantic poet Hoelderlin and Sophocle’s Antigone in his recently published lectures on what he calls ”Stromdichtung” or river poetry. My work will attempt to expressly render visible the source of what it means to dwell (wohnen) and what it means to have a home (Wohnstaette). Heidegger’s reconstruction of the roots of human identity help to throw light on the connection of what has often been disintegrated in modernity, i. e. the connection between rootedness, dwelling and identity.
The work on paper will be a series, in which a text will be incorporated.
