Artwork Description:
This drawing was made in the memory of a famous Soviet actress Faina Ranevskaya. In my opinion she was one of the greatest actresses of all times. However due to her straight forward nature and soviet regime constraints she played only in episodes of movies and not enough in the theatre plays. There are only 3-4 portraits lefet of this legendary woman who died lonely. She is known by all Russian people for her legendary sence of irony and her sayings are often repeated by people. At the dawn of her life in one of the interviews she said: I swam all my life in closet basin with style of butterfly.
This drawing is she in a 2 minute episode playing tapeur in an old soviet movie Alexandre Parhomenko. People went to movies to see Ranevskaya only in such tiny episodes.
