Artwork Description:

One of a series of Nature Morte bird drawings based on Greek Mythology via Ovid and 17th century Spanish still lifes. Zeus lusted after Queen Leda and disguised himself as a Swan to trick her into accepting his advances. Hence this depiction is in fact not a swan at all but a dead Zeus.
