Artwork Description:

The Black Madonna - Orbital Nexus Mixed Media - Dutch pastels, gold dust, Arches black paper, RivesBFK white paper, glues, fixative, cotton trim with geometric pattern, gloss acrylic gel, mulberry bark paper from Thailand, Kozo threads from Japan, methyl cellulose Genre - Drawing Date - 2020 Size - 22 inches high by 20 ¼ inches wide This mixed media drawing—a one of a kind work on paper—is a semi-abstract folk work of Post-pop expressionism. It depicts the artist’s profound interest in The Black Madonna Cult and explores his quest to uncover the mysteries of this ancient phenomenon. Some historians claim that the Black Madonna genre possibly dates to a pre-historic matriarchy. The raw style of this work is a stark contrast to Di Falco’s work in etching. The piece ships without a frame or mat, but is packed in a sturdy cardboard carton. The drawing is packed in glassine and placed between two acid free boards. It is next wrapped in waterproofing plastic and then packed with archival materials and bubble wrap.
