Artwork Description:
The base and glass portal surrounding the panel are cast in molds with sand and inclusions. Copper leaf in the mold when fired gives the antique green-gold look to the white glass. The panel is created by fusing many layers of shaped transparent colored glasses that become a solid panel when fired in the kiln. The linework is created on the cooled panel then re-fired so the drawing becomes one with the glass. I will be pleased to answer any questions you may have about this artwork.
