Artwork Description:
Back at Glass Studio sessions again.. Glenn Briggs had 2 larger copper pieces saved for me, which Don, another glass artist did not want to pursue.. and so.. I had a GO for the first..
clean and scrub.. acid.. water.. goop on one side.. and other flux (clear glass layer and on top orange ruby red and another red/orange hue.. in the kiln with it.. heavy.. so Glenn did that one, as most of time, for me.. then.. after cooling, it was for me 'disappear' inside creative world.. choice of 4 blue hues.. the lightest touch of pink directly on copper.. thought, this must! be great.. no matter what.. and deep hue of grape.. all transparent.. sifted the finest powderred glass hues.. then placed on previous clear.. then took my little 'magic wands' (like earswabs, only pointed) and created movement.. lines.. then tipped the glass piece, to merge in various areas.. drew again lines in design.. forms sensual, sexual.. other natural flow as to water.. and forms beneath.. profile.. flowing hair under water, or in wind.. and then.. stepped back.. and saw with creative minds eye.. yet did not in reality.. the results, I expected.. created.. but.. would the heat.. and glass cooperate this time..
DID !!!!! smiiiile..
Glenn flattened the piece, when it came out soft and glowing red hottttt... with this super heavy metal press... (too heavy for my wrists).. it cooled.. and Pauline,my best and longtime friend.. and Dolly the Tech of these sessions , who thank heavens allows my corner.,. and lets me create to hearts content.. gives tips when I ask.. as well as Glenn exclaimed.. 'NO more touching this.. THIS is beautiful.. and is DONE!!! NO more fingers on this..'
WOW.. and I had to agree... while the others enjoyed viewing.. I viewed too.. and YESSS.. DONE.
Make an offer, if you wish. Welcome..
