Artwork Description:
-- designed more precise outlines in cobalt blue.. dusted whole piece with flux (clear glass powder).. on way to kiln, this piece slipped off trivet.. and 3 hrs. design work went 'puff'.. baked it anyways.. and will work creatively on it once back to glass studio sessions.. in about a month.--
glass still expands in cooling.. so many layers, takes a while.. will take it back to studio session and top it with transparent glass.. wchich will heal the glass in 1550 or more hot kiln.. maybe even lower temps.. liquifies.. then have to take care, room is warm, as to not speed cooling too fast.. glass needs its time to harden as one and developw its hues and design to fullest during the process........ can really see in sunlight the hues.. even though tiny tad of glare.. but was lucky not very noticeable.. but.. every glass piece .. even windows.. have glare, when light hits it in various angle.. you can see, how the pure silver leaf glistens through the light glass layers of aqua colored glass.. like that.. next time I try a red on that.. or black... but do not think, they have transparent black at fire and glass studio sessions' supply.. hm.. would be cool to try.. want to do maybe bowl next.. the break through technique with my design 'technique'.. wonder..
