Artwork Description:
This small, elaborately hand-painted and kiln-fired stained glass window, includes mouth-blown antique glass. Various techniques such as acid etching are used to create the detail in the panel. The panel is transparent and designed to be hung in front of a window where natural light will bring it to life and in direct sunlight it may project its colors onto surrounding surfaces. Due to its transparency, it is influenced to some degree by the view behind the panel, causing it to continually change with the weather and the play of light on its surface, something which can never be captured by a mere photograph.
It is framed in a light, black wooden frame and supplied with fine black chain and instructions to suspend it in front of a window.
