Artwork Description:
Floral stained glass is, in my opinion,
often trite in its simplicity and lack of
originality. Whenever I do flowers in
stained glass, I try to do them justice.
This artwork depicting morning
glories (currently for sale) is a classy
example of floral stained glass.
The central design is constructed with
a very small lead came (3/32"), not
previously available to me. The
border design is leaded with 5/32"
lead came. All of the lead came and
solder has been treated with a patina
that gives a charcoal gray color to the
came.
The morning glories are cut from a
pink and purple multi-colored glass.
The central background glass is an
opaque peach colored glass, not
yellowish as it appears here. The
bevels in the border (which look white here) are actually clear peach colored bevels (very rare).
This floral artwork is framed in a custom made walnut frame to which a medium stain has been
applied. It comes ready to hang, as do all of my artworks that are for sale.
