Artwork Description:
This is a combined genre work using PRINTMAKING and PANTING. The etching was originally of the Polish icon, OUR LADY OF CZESTOCHOWA, which is pronounced Chest-ah-HOE-Va. Media include etching ink from France, Rives BFK white paper, watercolors, gouache, and Japanese iridescent cake watercolors. The original etching was executed in 2009 at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. The colored paints were added to an Artists Proof in 2020 as a result of the artistnot having access to his etching studio at Fleisher Art School because of the Virus Outbreak from Communist China. Image size is ten inches high by eight inches wide. Limited edition. Oil-based printer s ink on RivesBFK white paper. Mixed technique Etchingintaglio, aquatint, drypoint. Print size is 15 inches x 12 inches. Price includes work, handling, packing materials, shipment carton, and Certificate of Authenticity. This work relates to my series of works on THE BLACK VIRGIN CULT in Europe, as well as around the world. The Black Madonna has many sacred sites in France, Italy, Spain, Scotland, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Malta, and England. Some claim She is the Christian version of the goddess, Isis.
