Artwork Description:
According to Greek Mythology, the union of Uranus, god of the sky, and Gaea, goddess of the earth, produced the Titans, the Cyclopes and three monsters, Cottus, Briareus and Gyges. These monsters had one hundred arms and fifty heads attached to their backs. Uranus was horrified at the sight of his offspring and buried them in the depths of the earth. Gaea mourned at first but later planned her vengeance.
