Left panel- Kings and Princes Centre panel - Backra Pickney Right panel - Ape to Zebra The trilogy is comprised of three sections titled as above. Kings and Princes refers to the historical fact that an african prince was sold into slavery and brought to the new world. Maybe there was more than one we dont know. However it speaks to the fact that Africans were not the uncivilized people Europeans took them for whenthye first landed in Africa. Backra Pickney is aterm for Africans after they were sold into slavery. Ape - Zebra is a reference to the racial slurs that are used to describe black people in the new world today.
