Artwork Description:
Gerard DiFalco created this original, one of a kind work by combining the genres of printmaking and painting. He began the process by taking an artist’s proof from a new intaglio and aquatint etchings and then enhancing it with watercolors. The work depicts Jack Kerouac and a friend standing outside The Kettle of Fish, a Greenwich Village Bar popular with Beats during the late 1950s. The original zinc plate etching required four separate Nitric Acid baths and was executed at The Center for Works on Paper in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as part of their OPEN STUDIO IN PRINTMAKING at the Fleisher Art School, which is associated with The Philadelphia Museum of Art. This ready to hang work comes with an archival mat and metal edged frame that measures about 13 by 10 inches.
