Artwork Description:
here again there was no initial commitment to show these works. for a long period of time i was allowed the freedom to experiment and develop at leisure. the drive to complete a given body of work ceased to be motivated by commercial engagements or even material necessity and shifted to a fuller expression of a deeper necessity. the methodology was such: a great number of paintings would be placed on the ground and each piece allowed to suffer whatever accidents would result from the work on the ones next to it. this allowed not only for greater spontaneity but also an economy of materials.
