  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Tim Guider - Tim, age 66 years, is an internationally renowned mural artist and sculptor. Born with a natural talent for art, at age 22 years Tim decided to pursue a career as an artist. He studied at the National Art School, Sydney and received an Artists Development Grant from the Australia Council. He now has 42 years of professional artistic development to bring to his work. Since the mid 1980s his murals, canvas paintings and sculpture have attracted an enormous amount of television and press coverage both nationally and globally. A few image examples of Tims work are included in this portfolio which clearly show the wide range of materials and techniques this artist has mastered. He includes sculpture effects in murals. He has painted his sculptures and even uses internal illumination as well as mechanical movement in sculpture. Much of Tims artwork has a theme of multicultural Australia and our Aboriginal heritage. I have known Tim for over 30 years. I was a young television journalist when I was first assigned to film his murals and interview the artist. Recently in October 2017 Tim wanted to unveil his break through work Enlightenment on the world stage. He exhibited two large Light ...

Simpson Barbara - Art Therapy: Spiritual Healing Through Artist Expression Evolved from strong emotional moments in my life and through the influence of my dreams, my passion to paint encourages me to explore deep within myself and create from these idyllic moments. Since a few years before the turn of the new millennium I became more in-tune with my higher being, or'spiritual self'. Through the connection and inspiration of people around me, and through acquiring greater knowledge of a spiritual world and an understanding of colour and its effect in our everyday lives, I feel blessed with the ability to express myself in an artistic way. My paintings define my individuality, along with my vibrant personality. Influenced by the styles of great masters passed, such as, O'Keeffe, Monet, Renoir, Manet and Gauguin, I love bold colour with a style to call my own, representing my "joie de vivre". My work is considered upbeat, warm and flattering to the eye. And while I prominently work with acrylic paints, I have experimented with other media such as: pen and ink, charcoal, pastel, watercolor and oil. I enjoy painting a variety of subjects, including abstract and portraiture, although, most of my work features ...

John Cielukowski - I focus on painting what interests and fascinates me. I also try to promote awareness of animal welfare issues through my paintings. I donate my work to local and national animal welfare and environmental organizations for their fundraising efforts. I received my BA in Fine Arts from Montclair University in New Jersey. I also studied at the School of Visual Arts SVA and The Art Students League in New York City. I am a founding member and board member of the Studios of Cocoa Beach, Florida. I am also an active member of the Central Brevard Art Association, located in Rockledge, Florida. ...

Darla Fisher Odjig - 7th. World Aboriginal Image Maker Vision: the belief that symbology will be a huge part of the art. That all may project a uniqueness of their Indianess through this. I promote the essence of my culture through the educating of Cultural diversity & visions through symbols. The sharing through symbology/pictorial imaging precipitates a phenomenon of altruism and healing. Guidance through mind, heart, body and spirit is essential to envisioning a holistic sense of self. In reference to Creative Extraction, expression toward the enhancing of emotion and identification of authentic values and feelings enable release and validation. Building of inner strength and outer relationships are important to communicating who we are. Reflecting on shadow imaging and of internal elements will allow for visioning and creative connectedness. Our Community includes the participating of connecting with the public through the art and its symbolic representation regarding the intergenerational affect as illustrated by symbolic historical referencing and recording. The developing of inner creativity through outer expression allows a sense of identity and connecting of 2 worlds within. Integrating Aboriginal artistic mastery with Western/European mastery as a recognized fine artistry brings a unified and elegant fusion of a unique vision of true Canadian Fine ...

Caren Keyser - My expressionist paintings are done using an intuitive process. I begin with the paint and then allow the paint and my subconscious to lead me to the subject matter. Exciting interactions between colors evolve from brushwork, pouring, glazing, spraying and other techniques. I strive to show the essence of the subject rather than paint an overly realistic image. I never know what I will find next in my work. I hope it will be dramatic and emotional. Note that the paintings are not framed. ------------------------------------- I began painting professionally in 1977 after studying art at Florida Atlantic University. There I explored the many styles and techniques available to the acrylic painter. My first photo-realism style piece was created while attending FAU. I knew from that moment that realistic nature scenes would be my style of choice. This remained my theme and style until after 2005. As time has passed my work has changed and become more creative in its processes. Color is still the dominant feature in my work. As my focus has shifted toward expressionism I stored my realism pieces. The originals of many of them are still available for purchase and are included in my inventory here at ...

Eduardo Guelfenbein - Eduardo Guelfenbein's art has always been dominated by the commanding presence of the figure. Close to a free narrative figuration which represents a South American expression, an imprint of energy of speed and movement, he constructed certain of the latter works in free of form, leaving the work to express itself, exploding the outlines of faces and bodies, favoring gesture and color. Waves in vibrant colors create shadows and in a picture as "Peopled" it is practically impossible to decipher the puzzle that mixes the faces and the bodies in colored whirls. Some suggestive signs arise such as an eye, or a profile inseparable from a movement that runs, encompassing the entire canvas. This fluidity, that gives the title to the exposition, characterizes perfectly the latter animated work of a volcanic spirit close of the primordial and veiled force that presided Creation. Here, Guelfenbein finds the way of an "almost abstraction", whirling, lively, that comes close to European pictorial experiences such as Cobra, and particularly of Lindstrom (not exactly Cobra), of which the research corresponded to the exploration of the basic energies translated by the usage of the bold colors and the "sculpture" of pictorial matter. ...

Norbert Szuk - My artwork can be divided into periods by idea, emotion and impression. I am proud that the pulsating colours of my pictures have been accepted by Playboy Magazine in Hungary, as well as by the world-famous electronic record company, Some Bizarre Studios in London, for whom I occasionally design CD covers. I have achieved success in the field of illustration and my own artistic universe in which I blend different trends. Apart from my own style, I also paint Japanese manga pictures where I mix European art forms with Far-Eastern images like wayang, so that my artistic style might be called international. My manga and wayang figures express emotions and passion, animated by various ideas. My heart and emotions are European, my ideas are nurtured by Spanish surrealism, my images promote the harmony of the Far-Eastern world. I always maintain a broad perspective. As well as painting, I have worked in international festival management in Hungary and abroad. I deal with graffiti, airbrush, ice, sand, giant painting and various other kinds of installations, art camps, designs, illustrations and exhibition organizing. I have created 120 minor and major art programmes and movements. From art festival management, I am ...
