  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Tara Hutton - My passion for the glamorous Art Deco era of the 1920's & 1930's is reflected in all my artwork. Therefore when you view my artwork you will see definitive lines and geometric shapes. My favorite medium is acrylic. My favorite art period is Art Deco but lately I have been venturing into next era, often referred to as Mid-Century Modern. My love for Architecture and Design is equal to the love I have for Fine Art. I am most attracted to people that are connected to or passionate about the arts. If my arwork pleases you I will be pleased, send me an e-mail, I answer all my art e-mail! Thank you for taking the time to view my Absolute Arts Portfolio. ...

Mary Hatch - Mary Hatch has had a strong interest in art beginning painting and art classes when she was twelve, and visiting the Dallas Museum of Art, and A The Chicago Art Institute regularly made an impression on her style by seeing famous paintings. She studied art at UT Arlington, and transferred in her junior year to the Architecture department from the Art department, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and is a Registered Texas Architect and Interior Designer. She additionally studied printmaking at TCU and the University of Dallas. Seeing other museums also created a great love for art including the Kimbell Art Museum, Louvre, Prada, Kunsthistorisches, Ufizzi, and The National Gallery. In the late 70s, she participated in multiple gallery art shows, university exhibits and Dallas WomanaEURtms Caucus of Art and Texas Visual Artist competitions. In the mid 80aEURtms she attended an Adams Middleton Gallery, Dallas, TX, art show for the abstract expressionist, Herbert Ferber, at his art exhibition. His vast canvases with sculptured facade inspired her to paint large. In the 90's, the New Mexico Series was inspired by the Southwest and multiple trips to Santa Fe, NM. During 2006-2009, she was painting seascapes ...

    Jessica Dunn -

Richard Harpum - I find painting to be one of my most satisfying pastimes. Although I drew and painted as a youngster, a career in the British Army followed by many years as a senior executive in business, meant that I did not start pursuing my passion again until I was in my 50s. I am so glad that I did. Although I love the Impressionists, the engineer in me means that I have a great deal of difficulty being "loose" in my own work. Having tried and failed, I decided to take the route of being a realist artist, and recently coined "High Definition Art" as my slogan. However, I am not interested in achieving photorealism. I want people to see that my pictures are paintings, and would hate the thought that someone had to take a close look to discover that one of my paintings was not a photograph. My time-consuming technique pretty much prohibits painting en plein air, so I use photographs for reference in my studio. Consequently, I take a camera everywhere, although this drives my wife nuts! However, I deliberately avoid painting a direct copy of any of my photos. Indeed, with each new painting, I seem ...

Kees Van Eyck - My works of art express a metarealistic perception of our world, traditional in the history of Dutch painting. However, the source of my inspiration can also be found in European surrealism as well in American hyper-, and photo realism. In my collection Portraits of Icons of the post-war period of the 20th century I introduced the iconography of our era. These images of celebrities characterise movie-stars, media personalities plus inspirational individuals from the field of music, art, politics and philosophy. With these portraits I pay tribute to famous people with extraordinary gifts and talents, who influenced the development of mankind and left their mark on various fields during the 20th century. My perception of life on Earth is often depicted in a surrealistic manner. My attitude towards our environment is charged with criticism as well as hope for a better future. My paintings aspire to evoke the sense of beauty and to raise awareness of burning issues in todays world....

Dario Raffaele Orioli - A painting, statue or other work of art speaks best for itself, without superfluous words, but to say a few words about my opinion about art. Art allows us to live, differently at different periods stages of life. Different already in character, temperament of each individual. Through art I seek man Of course, many painters run away from looking for a man because it is a painstaking job, so it is easier for them to end up in abstractions, concepts, etc. under the pretext that it is modern. Abstraction is a trip to the unknown, but after many years of such a trip to the unknown, one gets tired and realizes that he needs the peace and stability he can find in the knowledge of the world around him, which is right outside of him and if he knows how to look, he can think through it enjoy it here and now There is a saying that every living being is a snapshot of nature towards man, this can be applied to art ....Any abstraction is an artists shot at figuration.... Of course it can be the other way around, but what a world this would be if it were ...

Sanjoy Rakshit - Nature is the almost topmost creators. And change is the nature of low. There changing are going on time to time, with the through every moment of step. Which moment is present, that will be past, after will be began new present time, with the new provisional. That feels need to sixth sense. In live to think, all kind of creativity are impressed with this. In huge moment, feels are lots of together, here ability of catching minimum, and this is depend on which is only in our in previous knowledge. My just as series is, spontaneous reflect of inner feelings & sense, which depend on timing .There can be something reality of present -past. Here appearance may would be supernatural atmosphere. There Lines & color able to reflect their own images , & language. So "Just As" trying to judge and define, the rhythmic flow & harmony of present sense, extraordinarily. THANKS. Rakshit ...

Avril Ward - Artist's statement. Creating has become an intricately woven part of my life. I must express nature, as it is my window to God. I must delight in the human body, a marvel that never ceases to amaze. I must express love and joy-this keeps them tangible in my life. I must trust my instincts and skills allowing them to lead me in the right direction. Most importantly: if my art can move a person to pause, think, smile, ponder, cry, laugh, be encouraged or give them hope, then I have served my purpose in life." Kika Selezneff Aleman - Contemporary artist born in 1970 in Murcia, Spain. Kika lives today and works in Puteaux, France. Her impressive list of exhibitions to date comprises prestigious galleries in Spain, France, The USA, Taiwan and Switzerland. The artist relates the story of humanity via depictions of everyday moments. These embrace people reading the newspaper on public transport, bathing, sitting chatting, or simply shopping at the market. In the words of the artist, "My aim is to enable every single person who views my work to identify with it through the medium of his or her own experiences." She draws attention to the fact that a painting can awaken diverse sensations in different individuals depending on what they themselves are experiencing in that specific moment. Using a combination of techniques and textures, she enables her vibrant colour palette to bring life and soul to all of the situations and people she portrays. Bold strokes express body language and facial expressions in a way that cannot fail to make the onlooker access his of her own associated feelings. Those emotions may be triggered by familiarity, yet can have incredible depth, impact and individuality. In her own words, Kika explains this dialogue between the art ...

Suzanne Gegna - I AM INTERESTED IN THE WORLD WITHIN AND THE PASSAGEWAY FROM INNER TO OUTER AS WELL AS OUTER TO INNER. I LOVE THE USE OF COLOR AND FORM IN ABSTRACT ART AND IT FREES ME AND I HOPE THE VIEWER TO FIND A PERSONAL CONNECTION WITH THE FINISHED ARTWORK. I ALSO USE WHIMSY TO CONVEY A CONCEPT AND HOPE TO REMIND THE OBSERVER THAT WHAT WE SEE IN THE MOST LITERAL SENSE IS PERHAPS NOT ALL THAT IS REAL. OFTEN I BELIEVE SIMPLICITY IS THE BEST WAY TO EXPRESS COMPLEXITY.... ...

Terri Cabral - Artists Statement I am a painter of people, animals and the natural world. I strive in my painting to reveal the unique essence of each of my subjects through the distillation of light and color into recognizable form and substance. I continue to be greatly influenced by my uncle, Cuban Vanguardia painter Antonio Gattorno. He was known for his versatility and his ability to paint masterfully in a variety of styles. I am constantly experimenting with styles and developing my sense of versatility. ...
