These paintings are part of a series called Secret Garden. At a certain point, after having painted landscapes of all kinds, I felt the need to get closer to the subject, ignoring the general vision to devote myself to detail. What interests me to describe in this series of works is the intimate perception of things, of the intangible details, of the colors impossible to notice if not zooming to the maximum the objective. It is a backward process to achieve an abstract view of nature.
In this my path I need to emphasize the material that I m painting, so I decided to use, contrary to my usual, the oil that allows me to get that grain, those roughness in the surface that help me better to describe this small inner world. Even the support has its importance because it helps to give material and physicality to the painting, so I opted for the use of wood or ceramic instead of the canvas.
This research, this series of works has marked an important point in my painting experience because it has allowed me to stop and look inside me to redefine the objectives and topics of my artistic adventure. Moving from general to detail has involved a completely different approach to my painting, abandoning the more figurative aspect in favor of a more gestural, expressionist and often calligraphic one.
My journey continues in search of shapes, colors and textures through my secret garden. It is a journey, above all inward, to the discovery of myself and of my memories that are manifested as fragments of things: flowers, leaves, shrubs, branches, clear or stormy skies, meadows and deep woods. An enchanted garden where you can access in times of need when, tired of the noise of everyday life, you feel the need to become estranged and fly higher.
