When I began painting, my first works were stories. Remember (if you read my artists statement), I was a fulltime writer before I became a fulltime artist. This painting tells the story of innocence coming into the world. A young girl on a horse riding from a pristine green forest through a stream towards a slot canyon with a poisonous enchanting phallic mushroom over head, the a seed pod of columbine, then knowledge in the form of an owl, then danger with a puma on a cliff, and finally back to a blossoming rose. The painting has Soluvar varnish for a final coat and its edges are painted with black for a finished look.
