This painting has been in my personal collection for twelve years, and I decided to put it on the market in the year 2018. I painted this icon of the Archangel Raphael as a personal prayer to the universe, and I would now like it to hang in a public place of meditation and worship. This Archangel is respected by Christians, Jews, Muslims, Buddists and Pagans, because of the angels healing powers. This relates to the story of Tobias and the Fish. The Archangel Raphael is also known as the Protective Archangel of Travelers. In this icon, Raphael holds a celestial staff topped by a golden fish, which is a symbol of healing. This aquatic being is adorned by the twelve gemstones that sit upon the breastplate of the ancient Hebrew High Priest. Raphael also holds a container of golden elixer, the sacred substance of healing and longevity. The Archangels hair is braided with 123 pearls to symbolize the sacred numbers of 1, 2, 3, 12, 23, 123, and 6. Raphael is one of the seven Archangels allowed to stand in the Presence of The Divine One. Please note that this acrylic painting on canvas is mounted on heavy-duty wood stretchers. The attachment is to the rear and its sides are painted, therefore no frame is necessary. This work also contains 24-karat gold and pulverized mother of pearl. The artwork is mailed to the buyer in a sturdy cardboard shipping box. The artwork is first wrapped in two layers of acid free glassine tissue and then placed between two archival boards, which are fastened together. Next, this packet is placed into the professional shipping carton, which is then packed with bubble wrap. The Absolute Arts Dot Com price includes all handling costs, shipment supplies, and the coast of the shipment box. Mailing costs are added.
