Artwork Description:   LAKE MEAD is an impressionistic abstract of a landscape in Las Vegas. I visit Las vegas and lake Mead each year. I find the scenery exceptional, from the desert vegetation to the encircling mountains. The colors in this painting move me from the misty mauve mountains to the cool blue lake, to the brown reeds at the waters edge. I am a nature person , loving all geographical zones and seasons I take my sketch book every where, sketching mini size images that inspire me. This art work as been painted on paper using encaustic medium. Encaustic medium is pigmented beeswax which is heated to a liquid form then appiled as you would any liquid medium. Each painting has been sealed with a wax sealant. I photographed the image to accurately,However colours may vary due to jpeg imagery.
