  • Artists Describing Their Art:

David Mihaly - The first series here represents notable historical and pop culture figures, many with Ohio roots, presented in a contemporary style. Each portrait can be seen as a celebration of the individual depicted as well as a meditation on the difference between the bygone era of actual achievement in the arts versus todays culture of instant celebrity. Also included here is a series of textured jazz musician portraits. Each musician painting was made using a layered acrylic technique, evoking the smoky atmosphere of the clubs where the music was born....

Kyoko Yamaji - What I paint is emotion, especially the beauty of love, the strength of love. Human or animals, unconditional, with sympathy and compassion, caring, sharing and also enjoying. Not only babies, any living things need to be loved. And the utmost form of joy comes not from wealth, but from loving the others. Only who devoted oneself would know. This is my theme....

Mary Hatch - Mary Hatch has had a strong interest in art beginning painting and art classes when she was twelve, and visiting the Dallas Museum of Art, and A The Chicago Art Institute regularly made an impression on her style by seeing famous paintings. She studied art at UT Arlington, and transferred in her junior year to the Architecture department from the Art department, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and is a Registered Texas Architect and Interior Designer. She additionally studied printmaking at TCU and the University of Dallas. Seeing other museums also created a great love for art including the Kimbell Art Museum, Louvre, Prada, Kunsthistorisches, Ufizzi, and The National Gallery. In the late 70s, she participated in multiple gallery art shows, university exhibits and Dallas WomanaEURtms Caucus of Art and Texas Visual Artist competitions. In the mid 80aEURtms she attended an Adams Middleton Gallery, Dallas, TX, art show for the abstract expressionist, Herbert Ferber, at his art exhibition. His vast canvases with sculptured facade inspired her to paint large. In the 90's, the New Mexico Series was inspired by the Southwest and multiple trips to Santa Fe, NM. During 2006-2009, she was painting seascapes ...

Beatrice Bedeur - Born in 1961 in Liege Belgium Painter and photographer. Awarded a diploma in photography and cinematography of the ICADI 1982. Preference for the non-conventional landscapes, customized and deconstructed. Interesting and very original work mixing Cubist decomposition, impressionistic lively touch and colors, close to the fauvism and to the Orphism. We could also speak about pointillism but only for the multitude of colored touches and graphs which Beatrice spreads on her painting. Taking inspiration from photographic cliches she realizes during her ballads in our countryside, she decomposes and stylizes then the image like an architect. This first graphic work is then enriched by multiple colored touches with oil paint giving to the final set, light, heat and harmony. The use of colors is fundamental for her and she likes using them in a vast ranges. The light is also essential vital, it represents the life and the well-being which Beatrice draws from her when she paints. Her favorite themes are of course the landscapes but she also gives way to the geometrical abstraction. Sometimes, the disintegrations disappear to let colored touches take off, but we always recognize the touch of the artist. At present, Beatrice BEDEUR works on drapes, ...

John Cielukowski - I received my BA in Fine Arts from Montclair University in New Jersey in 1981. I also studied at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) and The Art Students League in New York City. I enjoy painting vintage amusement park scenes, farm animals, domestic and feral felines and industrial landscapes. With my paintings of farm animals I try to convey that these animals have the same depth of emotion, feel joy and suffer just like our domesticated pets do. I donate my paintings and prints to local non-profit Central Florida groups such as (Save The Manatee Club, The Brevard Achievement Center, The Space Coast Feline Network and the Humane Society of Central Brevard) for their fund-raising efforts. I also donate to national animal welfare groups like Farm Sanctuary, in Woodstock, NY. I am an active member of the Central Brevard Art Association. I am responsible for hanging artwork at one of our aEURoeArt in Public SpacesaEUR locations....

Aniko Hencz - I have been drawing and painting ever since I could hold a pencil in my hand...Most of my works are inspired by nature, buildings and personal feelings which end in abstract or conceptual paintings and drawings - it all depends on my mood. My favorite technique is watercolor and ink, but I also like to paint with acrylic or oil. Another medium I create in, is digital art, where my works are the creations of my imagination. I like to experiment and learn new techniques, thus I ventured myself in creating jewelry. When Im not painting, I make one of a kind beaded and wire wrapped pendants. I sell my pieces worldwide, commission works are also welcome - contact me if you wish something special. ...

Leonard Parker - Dr. Leonard W. Parker's artistic style lends realism to his landscapes and seascapes by viewing both from a distance or up close! As a university professor, he has grasped the techniques of oil painting from his own personal research and study. His works have been displayed locally, but his desire is to gain wider notariety. Parker has adopted the phrase "'Scapes in oil" to tell both buyers and sellers that his greatest love is representing as real as possible God's wonderful world in which we live! One would desire to display his landscapes and seascapes in a variety of settings. Dr. Parker also has had commissioned art from photographs. Buyers of his artwork have come to cherish their original oil painting on canvas as heirlooms. ...

John Hughes - Im a retired Aerospace Engineer, and to occupy my time, i started painting about 3 years ago. I have no formal training in painting other that a high school class in drawing, and more resent a training DVD in oil painting. My paintings are primarily for decorating the wall of a home, and not of an art gallery. Since I am an Army Veteran with a 6 year commitment, I feel that, if I sell some paintings, I will be in a position to financially support one of the Veteran Organizations in order to help my fellow veterans who have sustained both physical and mental injuries. ...

Amanda Scott - About the Artist Amanda Scott has been a dedicated artist for over ten years. She has been a self directed student taking classes, learning from other artists, and sitting in on hundreds of University lectures while working as an Art Model. The diversity of her experience supports the diversity of her art in style and medium. Her muse is usually the female figure. Her works have been exhibited in Local coffee shops, Open air Art Walks, and group shows. She is resident of Maui. Her work can be found at Maui Hands Gallery. Artist Statement I make art because for awhile I am transported to a fantasy world of my own creation. I've often wondered if I could be more practical, less of a dreamer. However, every time I've thought of giving away my paints it felt like I was dying. My paintings celebrate and explore humankind. My journey as an artist is inspired by the light that imbues one's life when one pursues their joy....

Lea Liblik - My main subject of painting is the nature. Because everything already exists in the nature - colors, forms, composition and even abstraction. The most important thing for me in my works is the light - the light brings out colors of the subject, gives shape to the model and composes the tone of the picture. And sometimes the light is my model by itself....

Chris Jehn - I am primarily a self taught artist and have always felt creative. I worked my way through college by teaching crafts at an arts and crafts store, everything from embroidery and macrame to tole painting and pottery. I have taken numerous workshops from other practicing artists. Being with a group of other artists creates a synergy that inspires me. I now primarily work with acrylics and collage. I especially love intense color, and have made a study of color composition. One of the main reasons I live in Colorado is because almost everywhere you look there is something wonderful, and IaEURtmm compelled to try to paint what I see and feel. ...

Marty Montez - Well...I'm self taught. I let my native american and native earthling experiences influence my work. I don't believe there are mistakes in art. Anything created by a person is insight into however crazy, skewed or thoughtful a persons being is. Embrace it all. I believe if we as humans could learn to appreciate other humans artwork, even if we don't like it, we could learn to appreciate each other AS humans and not; black, white, mexican, iranian, scott etc...our differences are only our clothes and experiences. We were made by God. If we're good enough for him, we ought to be good enough for each other. This earth has two things it'll be known for when it's all over. Art, like music and visual arts....and the fact we kill each other instead of help each other. Let's focus more on ART!...

Jean And June Pastore - Jean and June Pastore work from a Studio in Port Bouvard, Mandurah, Western Australia. Their Award winning Art is a unique way of reflecting stories from life. They are passionate about their Artwork, each piece is created with feeling and is truly an original. The Sisters work together to create their Art in Acrylic and Oil paints as well as Mixed Media including glass, metal and wood. They have had many Solo and Group Exhibitions. Two of their Solo Exhibitions are still Aired on West T.V. and Foxtel's Aurora Channel Programme, Gallery Watch "Lucid Images" and "Windows of the Soul". They have also produced Illustrations for calendars and books. Their Artworks are collected by many Corporate and International clients. ...

Evie Tirado - My journey as an artist began with my first crayon. I have always been in love with color. Over the years I've developed a passion for lines, forms, space, and the spaces between . Be it paint, inks, dyes, or watercolors, each media excites me. I experiment in diverse styles, allowing the subject, materials, and concepts, to influence the final outcome. My work is often a fusion of opposites -- chance and deliberation; remnants of the past link to the present; fluid pools of color, allowed to drip and layer and develop alongside the thick, structural impasto effects. For me, art is a necessity; a surrendering, a discovery, and a celebration. It transforms thoughts and ideals into dimensional realities beyond the flat surface. The interior process of abstraction suspends me from isolation, and connects me with my most authentic self,as well as the rest of humanity. ...
