  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Ivan Pili - Following in the footsteps of the great masters of the past, the tradition of classical and romantic nineteenth-century painting that evolves into a figurative language relives in the beautiful works of art of master Ivan Pili , whilst the segno runs fast and decisive in the graphic ability from suffused values aEUR
Martha Hayden - My painting is both realistic and abstract, it is on that elusive edge between there and not there. On first look everything is in place, then all dissolves. I want realism and abstraction to take turns. I want a painting sometimes very evocative of time and place, sometimes overwhelming in abstract, structural logic. I look for a surprise, a drama, a different way of seeing. I try not to see anything for itself alone, but as a part of the whole. In this context, my subjects take on meanings other than the accustomed ones. They are more than still life and landscape; they are comments on thinking and seeing. ...

Carlos Bruscianelli - ARTISTS STATEMENT. Almost all my work is inspired by Contemporary Realism Heavily influenced by classical realism and hyperrealism. My favorite technique is the oil on canvas, the genre that I practice most often is the Still Life, because of its infinite compositional and pictorial possibilities. As for my paintings, it is common for me to use elements that go unnoticed, some marbles, a piece of Kraft paper, glass goblets, a Rubiks cube, seemingly insignificant but chromatically interesting pieces of wood and metal with organic textures or created by the human being, who pose a challenge to be accurately represented for any painter. Currently my work focuses on the main elements of the composition, accompanied by neutral backgrounds, with the aim of the viewer fix their eyes on these pieces. My goal, like that of every painter of the realist genre, is to follow the long road of technical perfection, this is certainly a utopian goal and may sound like something very pretentious, but, constantly improving in every aspect of life is not a Bad habit, although I have many defects, being conformist is not one of them. Carlos Bruscianelli. ...

Anna Balashova - Since I can remember myself I always love to draw. When Ifeel the joy, sorrow, fear, happiness or pain I want to do something, I dont know what and how, I jast start to paint. It is indescribable feeling of unity with infinity of Universe when I saw the birth of new life on canvas. Thanks God that I can do this....

Marco Tulio Espinosa - My love of painting has been with me since early childhood. I have always appreciated and am greatly influenced by the craftsmanship of the processes of the Old Masters in the Gothic and Renaissance periods. My paintings, although figurative, are composed in very much the same manner as that of an abstract work: form and color are my primary interest. When I begin a painting I donot have a preconceived idea in my mind; I use the figures to create a vibrant nucleus and the emergence of the final piece, you could say, is a product of the subconscious journey. My paintings do not depict a defined age or period; nor do they reflect the past or present. The figures in my works are in a state of introspection, detached and isolated from their surroundings. I love to play with unbalanced and, at times, absurd compositions in order to contrast the meticulous and detailed way in which I paint....

Michael Todd - You may read my short Biodescription about myself on my website artistmichaeltodd.com but briefly Im just one of those multi-talented, highly creative, highly motivated and enthusiastic people that is always expanding his horizons in one form or another. I travel when I can and I adventure. I love to scuba dive and cook. Im 64 and slowing down some haha which is helping me in my visual art performance anyway...more time applied. My next point of destination is Belize to retire and paint Thanks for reading and I do hope, of course, that youll like something I created enough to then purchase and have to embellish your home or business. ...

Environmental Artist Apollo - "The beauty of our planet should be held in respect as well as reverence and awe! As the care takers of this precious jewel called Earth it is our duty to become more harmonious with our environment, for what we hold in our hands is a trust for future generations. What we do today, creates tomorrow." APOLLO Internationally Renowned Environmental Artist. Apollo is one of the World's Leading Environmental Artists. Apollo started painting dolphins and whales when He first moved to Maui in 1980. Since that time he has developed a Worldwide Following and has had the privilege to work with several Environmental Groups to raise both funding and awareness. ...

Raphael Perez Israeli Painter - Pride and Prejudice: on Raphael Perez's Artwork Raphael Perez, born in 1965, studied art at the College of Visual Arts in Beer Sheva, and from 1995 has been living and working in his studio in Tel Aviv. Today Perez plays an important role in actively promoting the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual) art and culture in Tel Aviv, and the internet portal he set up helps artists from the community reach large audiences in Israel and abroad. Hundreds of his artworks are part of private collections in Israel and abroad, and his artworks were shown in several group exhibitions: in Tel Aviv Museum of Art, "Zman Le'Omanut" art gallery, Camera Obscura, The Open House in Jerusalem, Ophir Gallery, The Haifa Forum and other private businesses and galleries. In 2003-4 his paintings and studio appeared in a full-length movie, three student films and two graduation films. Raphael Perez is the first Israeli artist to express his lifestyle as a Gay. His life and the life of the LGBT community are connected and unfold over hundreds of artwork pieces. His art creation is rare and extraordinary by every Israeli and international artistic standard. His sources of inspiration ...

Christine Alfery - My current thinking seems to be asking the age old question what is art Well - dont know why I say my current thinking - I have been asking that question ever since post modernism and all its relativity. Not only has art become part of the postmodern movement it has also become less precious because it seems everyone accepts the comments anyone can make art and its all about your own personal interpretation or how one sees things. I believe art, aesthetics, are all about personal interpretation. That does not make art relative and subjective. How can I say that Everyone is unique, all aEURoeartaEUR is unique. If an object is not unique, original, one of a kind, then it isnaEURtmt art. The idea, the concept, their uniqueness is art. Just like one person is unique to themselves, to their own individuality, aEURoeartaEUR is unique to itself and itaEURtms own individuality. It does not depend on collective thinking. NOT everyoneaEURtms ideas, concepts are art. Not every individual is an artist. They may create something that looks like art, it has a frame, it is in a gallery, the person who made it called themselves artists and their work ...

Ara Ghevondyan - Born in 1957 in Vanadzor, Armenia. He graduated from the local art school in 1974, till this day, he is creating so far. There is a belief that art dominates the energy alone. According to him, art impressionists are at the peak of arts history. He is unique in the sense that he does not belong to any category, whether political or organizational....
