Artists Describing Their Art:

Yuliya Martynova - Defacing people in a form of paper planes, the artist reinstates uncertain trajectory and creates poetic statements drawing attention to uniformity of fundamental elements of harmonic co-existence. Social belonging and acceptance, family ties, finding and keeping love, exploring the world and purpose of life are the common subjects of YuliyaaEURtms creations. Her artistic practice splits into two main periods developed in parallel where she creates series of compelling discussions on canvas and wood panels. The Migration series - Adolescence. Questioning fragility of perceived freedom while dismantling the laws of perspective and loosing balance of light and depth within medium and large scale canvases. The Migration brings to life dreamy artworks filled with myriads or stand alone paper planes resonating behaviour of a crowd or an individual. The Toy Story series, is the childhood realm. It is almost exclusively a paper based arena to allow her preservation of spontaneity and curiosity of the inner child. Through interactive cartoon like characters inspired by Noo Dolls London toy makers, Yuliya creates her own interpretation of religious stories, traditional values, manuscripts adventures and other issues of importance. She developed technique allowing to transforms subtle watercolours into vibrant and powerful burst of energy enriching ...

Arthur Robins - I WORK FROM A PLACE IN THE MIND, THAT I DISCOVERED, WHERE REALITY, IMAGINATION, MEMORY, AND THE DREAM WORLD MEET. MY Art , the creation of it, starts as either a drawing from on site [life], a drawing from imagination, or a direct painting or sculpting without preperation. I dont use photo or models. i paint how the mind sees....

Tiziana Fejzullaj - My paintings are mostly oil and acrylic on canvas. My work consists of bright, bold colors and is mostly concentrated on nude paintings, human body, and silent nature. The bright reds and yellows make my stand out from the darker background. I always mix my colors before I begin my painting to make sure that the colors on my palette are harmonious. Before I start painting I always make sure I have at least three colors on my palette that are in the red, blue, and yellow tones. Color is what makes a painting stand out to me. Sometimes IaEURtmm drawn to bold color that vibrantly describes the elements in the composition. Other times I am fascinated by the muted palette of a quieter scene. Color is a natural extension rather than the basis of my painting. My creations mainly have the human figure as subject, which is mysterious in its nature. It is not just a face to a body. It is about the body itself, conveying the beauty it has. Showing male figures dressed as females is a strategy to challenge the tradition of the objectification of women. I love the mystique that men have and which ...

Milutin Obradovic - The persistence of time and an endless search for the explanation of transience through themes, i.e. a way called life, or searching for the essence is the top or the bottom of the same idea, message, sign, or manaEURtms fear to put it all under oneaEURtms skin and breathe with it. Art and its unfathomable distance decorated with colours, movements or tones are a way of putting a burden of subconscious questions and incomplete answers on oneaEURtms back. Answers which will only in the future find themselves in the box storing the primordial findings on purpose. My paintings of horses are mysterious and they entice you into starting the dance of fire and ice. They are in an eternal impulse which is closer to coming back than leaving. They will never lie to the observer, or try to take him/her where they have already been and where he/she used to meet them. The horses will always take them to the unfamiliar places full of hope and endless existence. They are perpetual and always self-sufficient. My art and my search for the essence we call life is actually a burden on the back of...

Alexey Klimov - ARTIST STATEMENT I think that absolute freedom in art is no more than a mirage. Like a vanishing point, not only it is not achievable, but also constant strive for being totally uninhibited fundamentally contradicts the very nature of art. I discovered that by trying to free myself I instead only created un-freedom within, but at the same time I recognized it as a blessing because this un-freedom, to my great surprise, flowered into my very own freedom. I built my personal space inside it, I fenced in all I was made of and then I gladly confined myself into this space and opened all the windows to share whataEURtms inside with others. This is the moment of great joy for me because this space has never existed before I have created it. Not unlike theater, my work attempts to counterpart outside reality with no ambition to compete with it. It is just a window into my parallel world, my very own, not so little Universe. ...

John Powell - My art evoke a dialogue a message as a language I speak to create peace in a cosmic dialogue. If you are not honest, dont make artbecause ART is TRUTH time is Life time ceases to existdeath exist time is temporarytime movestime traps itself in timetime exist in time. My work speaks in a context of time,a painter and more recently exploring Photography.I choose not to privilege any one medium. The emotional and psychological content of my subject, the way the body expresses its dialogueemotion. It contextualizes the concepts of the duality of the meaning of the imagery. My style is an expression of my phillosophy which becomes a language, using,Post Modern,Expressionism,Latin American Tradition,Surrealism, soft Classism and Photography. It expresses my deep awareness of global issues and is counterbalanced with my cultural heritage. My inspiration originates from lifenature Its too spiritual to express. However,it is the same expressive energy as the work, transfused between energiesI use a certain iconograhy, which becomes a language. My art has helped me to see that nothing on earth is solitary, all things are interlinked. In order to see the impossible, you need to see the invisible My ...

Jose Higuera - REALITY AS A SOURCE OF CREATIVITY The criteria by which an artist chooses a certain path are not always well defined, not even for the artist itself there are many external and internal hard to control circumstances in the creative process that drive us to this aim of internal understanding of what we want to tell, express ...... This is not always achieved and, in certain instances during the process, either the starting point or the originally chosen path are forgotten, resulting in different ways of expressing the initial idea. The language of painting is as wide as creativity itself, that is why the choice of language should be free of punctual movements, of linear cultural trends and of single-current thoughts. These latter restrictions could render some short term enrichment of a current but, if adopted in a massive scale, impoverishes the individual creativity which is at the end what gives art its value as such and is what art feeds on. The reality as a path is in my opinion as valid as any other and, as all others, has many admirers that merits its existence. The strength of expression and the immense chromatic scope inherent to realism is ...

Walther Von Krenner - When I realized the meaning of the law in art I could express the invisible sanctity of mountains and rivers. This I, for many years was not born in the mountains, I did see them, but I left them alone. I saw them only with my eyes. Now mountains and rivers let me talk for them; they were born within me and I within them. Mountains and rivers have met with the sacred in me and as the feeling grew I finally brought them home to me. Oceans have currents, mountains have currents too, only hidden. As the sea has ebb and tide so mountains have mutual inclination. Mountains are nothing but the sea, the sea is nothing but mountains. Mountains and sea also know that I have the right conception about them. To have received the natural law of heaven and earth is the being essence of mountains and rivers. To have this law for brush and ink is the way to represent mountains and rivers. Without this law they are but ink and paint. ...

Brian Huber - Artist Brian Huber Brian Huber was raised in New Orleans in a house full of art and artists. His earliest creative influences were his mother Janeth Murray and aunt Lynne Gleason aEUR" both successful artists. Part of the creative gumbo was his grandmother Sculptor Rai Murray. A music filled studio, the smell of fresh acrylics and piles of paintings to name are fond memories of the time at home. Brian studied Art and Architecture at the University of Louisiana. He spent numerous years designing and orchestrating events for major television studios and corporations. For five years Brian split his time between New Orleans and San Francisco. After a few years in the city he moved to the eclectic houseboat community in Sausalito. He now lives with his wife in Marin County and is grateful to have more time in the studio. BrianaEURtms work is based on the abstraction of landscapes, architectural elements and the impact of man on the natural world. The rhythmic motion found in most of the work springs from blues and jazz music from his youth. The Water Rising series is based on the rebirth of his hometown New Orleans after Katrina. The Barrier series is inspired ...

Donna Gallant - Art is a daily routine in my life. I see, hear, taste, feel and smell the life that surrounds me and I am inspired by the simplest aspects of this world. Whether it be the way the light hits an object or the way objects or forms move in space. I find it all so fascinating and alive. I try to portray these experiences and expressions through my art making....
