Artists Describing Their Art:

Arti Vohra - Born in 1967 in Delhi. She is a Jaipur based Indian artist. Ever since her childhood she has displayed her creativity. She is a self taught artist and a qualified textile designer, who has designed for many leading stores of Delhi and Jaipur based export houses. Her paintings have been appreciated and successfully sold in India. She has now brought her work to a wider audience. FAITH is her first solo exhibition in which she has displayed the simplicity of rural life. The bright colours from her pallet bring the romance in simplicity. FAITH is the celebration of rural life seen through the religious vision of it's women. She has also shown her love for wildlife which shall be seen in her future works. She says'Painting is all that she ever wanted to do', however creative, no work has given her as much pleasure as painting does. It is meditation in true sense. ...

Arti Vohra - Luiz Henrique Azevedo - Luiz Henrique da Rocha Azevedo born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1955 living in Petropolis city their youth; soon developed their fondness for drawing, sustained mainly by comics illustrated by Alex Raymond, Harold (Hal) Foster and Ray Moore. During the year of 1975 this fondness goes to the oil painting where their first works occurred oriented by a lovely old madam, Dona Marina, how he called her in the afternoon of their youth, among occasional colleagues. There will born their figurative painting. But their painting lost its space to professional career for more than 23 years until return to its place. Emerge the necessity to take the old painting case and just work where he feels better. Attended the course of realistic painters (Jose Geraldo Fajardo and Renato Ferrari) where learn and mature their technical skill associated, initially, to Rembrandt and Ruisdaels Flemish school, to Spanish painter Melendez and impressionist esteem . He chase for technical expertise and also for thematic identification that gives to him at the same time a private and plural sense to their works. Isn't an easy task but, in this process, retracting to a state that feels better to him: worried with lines, shadows, ...

John White - Having been in art and design my entire adult life, painting seemed a natural transition for me. I have had the opportunity to study under some of the most prominent plein air painters in the southwest, and living in California provides me with a wealth of beautiful places to paint in the outdoors, from the oceans to the mountains and desert. My process starts outside painting small plein air studies which I then work up in my studio to larger pieces. Working outdoors with the use of light, color and composition and painting on location is nothing short of joyous. Not a day goes by, that if I am not paintingaEUR| I wish that I were. ...

Stanislav Bojankov - Stanislav Bojankov-Stanko achieves in his work a complete harmony between poetic vision and tangible object.Through the means of art he transfers drawing into different elite dimensions of space. The new Euclids optic which the artist opposes against the secrets of present and future, is like an insight into the fantastic architecture of matter and time.Perhaps this is where Ariadnas invisible string of fate starts to uncoil through the labyrinth toward the soul of ideal humanity. Pol Ledent - I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Belgium o, 23rd October 1952. I started painting in 1995 . I took some drawing lessons in the art academy in Dinant. I try to paint the landscapes of the countryside where I am living : the southern part of Belgium. Firts I took part in many collective exhibitions . Than, I had personal exhibitions in Rochehaut (Galerie La Potele), in Dinant (Galerie L'impression), in Paris (Rive Gauche Galerie Artimus) in Brussels (Galerie G-Loft).In 2004, I had three exhibitions, again In Rochehaut, galerie La Potele in May. Then, in September Exhibition Libr'art in Libramont. In November, Galerie Impression in Dinant. What people like most in my paintings are the colours. My art doesn't speak to the intellect but to the soul and to the feelings. Talink the risk to seem old fashioned , I would say it is rather romantic. I wish you much pleasure looking at my paintings. Pol Ledent ...

Ricky Montilla - Impression plays an important role in the mode of how we perceive the things around us. Through the years, I have absorbed, reflected and explored many. My style revolve around impressionism but also moving towards realism. My favorite subjects are figures, florals, ducks, swans and lately the Japanese kois. I tried to create paintings that not only touches the eyes but moves the heart as well. I owe everything from God and my family who inspires me to radiate artistry in my work. As long as God sustains my pursuit to manifest this God-given talent in my use of colors, shapes, textures & compositions in my craft, I would continue to paint continuously to my hearts content. ...

Claudette Losier - Artistic Statement - Claudette Losier (LosiersArt) "Where Beauty Lies " "The artist knows that even though he has created something beautiful, it can be destroyed. His real and innermost satisfaction is not in the object, but in the subject; that thing within him that penetrates the mystic splendor of Beauty itself." (Ernest Holmes pg 39) One of my bodies of work explores the concept of Paradise as something sought after by modern society. My search centres on gardens--as near as our own backyard and as far away as other continents or the imaginary garden in our consciousness. It has been stated that each garden reflects our longing for spiritual peace--a tie with our primeordal beginnings. It is in the beauty of nature where I find this spiritual peace from a homemade garden to a formal garden, from a tree to the vastness of Grand Canyon, from a rocky coast line to the calmness of a man made pond. In Dr. Wayne Dyer's book "Power of Intention" he quotes from Emily Dickson and John Keats(pg 51): "Beauty is not caused. It is " As you awaken to your divine nature, you'll begin to appreciate beauty in everything you see, ...

Peter Illig - Welcome to a gallery for the paintings of Carl W. Illig, regional American artist of Upstate New York. The paintings here are in the estate collection of the late artist and are completely authentic original paintings by the hand of the artist. All the paintings are oil on canvas board or hardboard support. My late father, Carl W. Illig, was a well-known landscape oil painter in Western New York and is now being recognized as a major regional artist. Carl Illig traveled all over the northeastern US, painting on-site, capturing the changing seasons of the hills and streams of New York State and the coast of New England. He loved the outdoors so this way of working suited him. His paintings were very popular and he was widely exhibited. Interest in his work his grown greatly since his passing. Carl W. Illig grew up in East Aurora, in Upstate New York, where he later studied under artist Arthur Kowalski. He was also an friend, admirer, and colleague of Emile Gruppe during summers spent in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Illig's distinctive energetic brushstroke captures the color and light of the region. Best known for Western New York landscapes and Gloucester ...

Mel Fiorentino - When I create my art I try to incorporate a number of things one being sexuality and eroticism, secondly based on whichever personal experience or mental thoughts I may have I do try to gear the piece as my personal visual diary and then third I like to use abstract and surreal back drops to bring the piece together. The human form is a beautiful and unique art in itself, so I find every contour to be exciting and challenging to paint. I do find that the thing us humans can relate to the most is other human experiences, which gives us a connection to everything and other human emotion. I love to work with surreal and abstract pieces, they are in themselves theraputic and bring a peace to the artwork. -Mel Fiorentino ...
