Phillip Flockhart - STATEMENT It has been said of my work Spanish Radio Interview 2005 that is is very ecclectic. This is true but I find the world and life so rich in texture, colour and drama and dare I say ecclectic in its amazing diversity, that I fail to see how I could respond as an artist any other way than I do. Having said this, I must add that my art philosophy is actually always present in the content of my work, although themes come and go and reflect other areas of my life- for instance I have been a street drugs worker since 1976 and an art educator facilitator in formal education and in the wider community for many years and these experiences have coloured and influenced the themes of my art- yet if examined the content of the work remains as it has for 35 years now- the attempt to disseminate the picure plane, with colour, real time space CollageRelief, imagery or optical device perspectiveopto-kinetism, to reveal the magic that lays beyond .... Painting has always been part of life, in my early years I painted what I was able to see, but now I paint my emotions. My life, as everyone, has had its ups and downs. Mijal Zachs - My work is a tautological investigation on painting. I started it while reflecting on the representation and simulation of reality, transforming the pictorical realm with the strategies of camuflage. Here, painting is not part of the context, but it's rather created as the support and is mediated by the interlocutor aEUR" the observer. The painting moves seducing the canvas and, as it advances, it copies itself in a mimetic manner and it represents itself as if it were a reflection. The mirror reproduces in a game of viewing, pretending to see itself but being someone else; a subtle vail that faces its condition of mask, guiding us towards reality....or maybe not. Through this investigation I have found different surroundings: from fabrics with given patterns, to tapistries, papers and woods. All of them have relinquished to me their condition and I have established with them a dialogue. Pol Ledent - I am a self-taught artist. I was born in Belgium o, 23rd October 1952. I started painting in 1995 . I took some drawing lessons in the art academy in Dinant. I try to paint the landscapes of the countryside where I am living : the southern part of Belgium. Firts I took part in many collective exhibitions . Than, I had personal exhibitions in Rochehaut (Galerie La Potele), in Dinant (Galerie L'impression), in Paris (Rive Gauche Galerie Artimus) in Brussels (Galerie G-Loft).In 2004, I had three exhibitions, again In Rochehaut, galerie La Potele in May. Legally blind, I see in the spaces between reality and in my art space becomes a shade, a tone, a tint, and even an invisible brush. Retired from the University of Colorado, I studied art from an early age as an apprentice to master oil and watercolor painters, sculptors and stone and gem carvers. As an artist my purpose is to accomplish the portrayal of the emotional tones and depths of shades of truth that are displayed in continuous movement.
