  • Artists Describing Their Art:

Susan Cantor-Uccelleti - My Statement as an artist and what art means to me and effects my life aEURoeArt Heals Body and SoulaEUR Abstract Expressionism gives me the freedom to express my inner feelings and also how I see the world around me through color and movement. My paintings are my life on canvas which I hope to be able to share so others can see the beauty and the wonders around us. This gives me purpose to go on, to be able to create is to live. Painting has always been part of life, in my early years I painted what I was able to see, but now I paint my emotions. My life, as everyone, has had its ups and downs. Each of my paintings represent my moods and situations around me. When you first look at my art, you will see colors, but as you back up and study each painting, you will see something different. Each piece of my artwork has some part of me which I gratefully want to pass on to you. My work is all original, there are no copies or prints, each one of a kind. When I paint, I think colors, movement and balance, ...

Jim Stevens - Composition, value and form take center stage in my art. My work explores the combined impact of empty space and light in unique presentations that underscore drama and wonder. Legally blind, I see in the spaces between reality and in my art space becomes a shade, a tone, a tint, and even an invisible brush. I am an internationally collected and award winning artist and author. Retired from the University of Colorado, I studied art from an early age as an apprentice to master oil and watercolor painters, sculptors and stone and gem carvers. My diverse skill set and love of art in its many forms eventually guided me to the creation of my signature monofilament and abstract linear paintings....

Denise Seyhun - The glowing energy of waves and the foaming seas captivate my soul, and as a result my seascapes, waterfalls, and riverscapes bare witness to my love and admiration for the force and elegance of bodies of water. Main character in my oil paintings is water, which deeply fascinates me, not only as true beauty but also with its transparent colors reflecting in constant motion. As an artist my purpose is to accomplish the portrayal of the emotional tones and depths of shades of truth that are displayed in continuous movement. For this particular reason the unseen and untold dimensions that the undertones and the overtones of bodies of water allow me to experiment with a wide array of colors on my palette. Consequently, my goal is to never repeat myself in my artistic journey as I continue to play with many shades of reflections in water until I have compiled a finite collection of all shades of water....

Tara Hutton - My passion for the glamorous Art Deco era of the 1920's & 1930's is reflected in all my artwork. Therefore when you view my artwork you will see definitive lines and geometric shapes. My favorite medium is acrylic. My favorite art period is Art Deco but lately I have been venturing into next era, often referred to as Mid-Century Modern. My love for Architecture and Design is equal to the love I have for Fine Art. I am most attracted to people that are connected to or passionate about the arts. If my arwork pleases you I will be pleased, send me an e-mail, I answer all my art e-mail! Thank you for taking the time to view my Absolute Arts Portfolio. ...

Reiner Makarowski - I don't like the usage of " uploading the importance and the meaning of artworks by words". I don't like it at all ... and I'm committed not to take place in this marketing game. The main influences of my work seem to be the so called classic modernism represented for example by works of Kandinsky, Klee, Braques a.o. Other influences come from many contemporary painters , for example guys who prefer the so called "lyrical expressionism". And of course I'm on the road to find and establish "my style". ...

Iana Sophia - In my work I strive to create a fusion of traditional and experimental, figurative and abstract visions to arrive at a texture, an implication of a landscape, where the familiar dissolves into mostly impressionistic colour fields or configurations with physical, emotional or even cosmic ramifications. Iana Sophias art pulsates between the seen and envisioned, the figurative and abstract. Inspired by a mystical sensitivity and an appreciation of nature, these paintings draw the viewer into a place of contemplation, where the secrets of the work begin to unfold.A(c) DLS ...

Daniela Isache - Expressionism is my way to show the world as I see it. Since I was young, I looked at the world differently from my friends. I saw a strange world, wondering why the other people did not see it like me. The world I saw was unjust and made of unhappiness. Looking profoundly at the people's faces, I found them very expressive and I was stroked by their strange traits. I have never seen beautiful or ugly faces but only very expressive ones. Then, I began to paint these faces and I met my future love - Expressionism. At that time, I discovered and understood that the expressionist painting could express the life as I see it. I applied my Expressionism without making any concession to the beautiful or decorative painting. I applied it with force and sometimes with despair. However, when finishing a painting I felt released. I felt as if all my pain and troubles came out of my life. The dramatic motifs I found in everyday life created insurmountable interrogations and tensions. I became calm, but when I looked at my painting, I saw there fear, sorrow and I understood that my Expressionism saved me. Some people ...

Bryce Brown - Brown focuses on simple moments of New Zealand life and reflects these scenes through his paintings with an earthy quality. i?1/2I feel compelled to make figurative paintings, to capture subtle movement and gestures and to evoke positive emotion through certain poise. I am always looking for images and movement to find strong line, usually working the image to a point where I have simplified and heightened the figure at the same time.i?1/2 Brown has paintings in collections in New Zealand, Australia, Europe and the USA. Visit www.brycebrownart.com for more information. ...

Chris Gould - Never the studious young boy, I spent most of my class time drawing sketches in the pages of my notebooks. Santa Anna, raising his sword in the battle for the Alamo buried deep within my notebook jumped out and attacked my father one evening while he help me with my homework. He counter attacked by hurling, "you will never be anything doing stuff like this", and I believed him. In school I loved art class, excelled and looked forward to it but never believed that I could be something there. When I went to college I focused on art and graduated near the top of my class with a BFA, and still believed that I would never be anything. After all, all I needed was a degree. With diploma in hand I entered the professional world with the ambition to climb the corporate ladder. Climb and climb to be something. Reaching to be something, I fall on art as therapy for the stress and anxiety that being something brings. Now I am something and nothing at the same time because I don't believe any more. And now I want to be something else. It is here in this ambition ...

Marek Kasprzak - The characters, objects, a structure embedded in an unspecified environment is the subject of most of my work. A surreal world full of inscrutable forms of pervasive emotional landscapes of the soul. The beginning is usually only an outline, a boost to the entrance of the land of colors, where the brush shows the way.The content of my images is the result of exploring further layers of smoldering visions. Defining the purpose of the work is unknown, but the temptation to visit the intangible places is huge. This portfolio is the beginning of a journey into the recesses of my imagination. Are you sure that the door which you are knocking at are to open? ...

Boyko Asparuhov - An imaginative expressionist,Boyko,s oil paintings are a treat to the eye and the soul with their strong brilliant colors, fantasy characters and symbolic elements fused into a bold, graphic style."My work conveys the positive energy of the universe-love,romance,dreams,music,nature,beauty and freedom,"says Boyko. Born in Pleven,Bulgaria in1959,Boyko began painting at age six. After graduating from the Bulgarian Academy Of Fine Art,he muved to Prague in the Czech Republic where he operated his own gallery until 2005 year. Boyko lives and works in Chicago,United States...

Chris Jehn - I am primarily a self taught artist and have always felt creative. I worked my way through college by teaching crafts at an arts and crafts store, everything from embroidery and macrame to tole painting and pottery. I have taken numerous workshops from other practicing artists. Being with a group of other artists creates a synergy that inspires me. I now primarily work with acrylics and collage. I especially love intense color, and have made a study of color composition. One of the main reasons I live in Colorado is because almost everywhere you look there is something wonderful, and IaEURtmm compelled to try to paint what I see and feel. ...

Eddie Fordham - Degree educated at the University Of Plymouth where I was tutored under John Virtue. I am a full time artist living and working in Devon. I exhibit regularly with the latest being the 161 annual exhibition at the Royal West academy in Bristol, UK. I was editors choice in the june issue of 'The Artist' magazine. www.eddiefordham.com ...

Alberto Ruggieri - Ruggieri works in two main areas: as an advertising and editorial illustrator and a painter. For the last ten years his illustrations have been published regularly in most important Italian newspapers and magazines. Ruggieri also illustrates children's books and produces bespoke book covers for several leading publishing houses. His painting are mainly acrylic on canvas, other time mixed media or acrylic on paper; in the last years he use the computer also.
