Lake Affect Acrylic on canvas 36x 24
My latest painting resulting from our stay at the Point Betsie Lighthouse.
The week we stayed there Lake Michigan was in a rare calm from adominant high pressure system.
The sight of the rusty pilings protruding out of the shoreline reflecting
off the evening sun reminded me in a hauntingly eerie way of the
collapsed World Trade Center towers on 9-11, the twisted steel pillars
rising up through the rubble. For all these reasons and more it gives
the lake not the effect we are accustomed to bit affection of an internal
moment in time.
