One of our favorite visits is to Calder Dairy Farm not far from where I live. The variety of animals on the farm is impressive, even the horses, from draft to minis are on the farm. I wanted to capture a specific time of year and day in this painting, similar to what the Impressionists accomplished, a five-o’clock snowy evening at feeding time sets the mood in the painting.
