a sudden downpour over a patch of jungle / borneo series: my work is inexorably conditioned by my travels. the fact that i now live on the island of borneo somehow helped shape the thoughts that occupied my mind while i was completing and setting aside the paintings in this cycle. the beginning stages of each cycle the first series is always more representational than i would care it to be. the rain especially struck me as something I wanted to capture.
