The acrylic on canvas painting, Birds of Paradise, is a unique attempt at creatively representing real and mythical birds in an aesthetics finesse with ease. Birds of Paradise are symbolic mythical birds, uncanny beautifully feathered creatures, strictly at home in Paradise. But, they occasionally visit our world in benevolent sorties. They come in graceful tides of glory, freedom and majesty. None in the universe can tame, control or contained them except the Almighty God because they are divinely and aesthetically cultured. Thus, they metaphorically stand for human’s eternal search for freedom, beauty, peace and joy without any satanic influence, strictly for God’s grace, love and favour now and always. Though, some so-called earthly birds of paradise species exist in Papua New Guinea, the ones portrayed in the painting is an attempt at representing the aesthetically perfected birds which symbolized God’s essence in our heart and soul. The traditional African motifs are added for aesthetic embellishment from an Onaism stylistic perspective.
