Artwork Description:

There is a small planetoid called Chiron (150km diameter, discovered Nov 11.1977), it orbits the sun like a planet and is located between Saturn and Uranus. It represents the 'Rainbow bridge' between inner and outer planets, the personal and transpersonal but also the old (Saturn) and the new (Uranus). In mythology, Chiron , the centaur, was 'the wounded healer', the one who lived with a never -healing wound who taught the other centaurs to become healers in their own right. In astrology, Chiron's position points to the area of your life where you have suffered, especially in childhood/formative years and where you can therefore teach lessons of healing. Chiron's symbolism is closely connected to Christ and the Resurrection. I painted this picture about 9 years before learning about Chiron, so it took that amount of time to find the right title for this piece.
