Artwork Description:   John the Baptist The first painting �John the Baptist� from my recent body of work - �HEADS� (on which I�m constantly working) displays my attempt to elaborate a large-scale topic discussing the rational and the emotional in�human beings as two intersecting levels. The shadow-figure of John the Baptist (inspired by Da Vinci) is being overlapped by my conception of him. I�step into the creative moment of intuition and freedom of expression and reflect the spiritual insight of a�Saint (as well as his �personality�). The extatic expression refers to a�complete dedication to the spiritual sphere. On the other hand, the grasshoppers represent the minimum urge of the body and thus eventuate consequently into its beauty.
