What does Steven Spielberg, Ron Lukas and local Baton Rouge artist Beverly Dudley Have in common? Ron Lukas now works with Spielberg, Beverly Dudley studied Russian Impressionist painting with Ron Lukas when she lived in Belleview Washington.. Dudley gave an Russian Impressionist Portrait Workshop at BREC's Independence Park Theatre and Cultural Center. Students viewed a tape of Lukas's at the Frye Museum doing his last portrait demonstration. The tape has a trailer of the piece that Susan Hutchinson did on KIRO TV, it also includes Spielburg. Dudley said,What a wonderful world we live in when we can pass on the legacy of the old masters. Work shop participants will secured a direct link to Ilya Repin the fountainhead of modern Russian painting. The heritage follows: Ilya Repin taught Nicolai Fechin, Fechin taught Peter Kotov, Kotov taught Sergei Bongart, Bongart taught Ron Lukas, Lukas taught Beverly Dudley.
