This canna lily grows wild on the bank of the St. John's river in Central Florida. It is a tale of survival of the fittest! At first it had one pitiful bloom on a scrawny stem. We took special care of it and nurtured into a big, strong flower that continually blooms as it blows in the wind. It has big blooms all the time. It has a personality I think and is whimsical and kookie looking. I love it so much I painted it! The painting immediately turned into one of my favorite works because it is cheerful and seems to give out a Happy Holiday Greeting! I may use it for my holiday card! The painting is 40 x 30 x 2 and gallery wrapped on canvas. I painted it quickly, using trowels and painting knives with thick oil paint so it is not labored looking. It has quite textured, rich and easy to look at.
