Artwork Description:

Clouds over Jerusalem I admire the doers who manage to have their heads in the clouds while their feet are on the ground. They are dreamers as well as doers. I have always loved clouds. As a child I marveled at their many intricate, always changing shapes. I used to think how wonderful it would be to be a cloud - free to wander at will, reshape oneself, travel on the wind, have a better than birds eye view of the world. Sometimes, now in my 90’s, and “ought to know better”reflect how it would be as a free spirit and have those attributes of a cloud floating, joining and separating again. I don’t know if I can be a free spirit, but I do have the ability to think outside the box. I love painting clouds. One day I had taken several photographs of clouds that especially attracted my attention, so I was in a happy mood when I went to my easel. Making this painting was a really satisfying experience. The following day I looked at it and decided it was just fine, and after it dried I would sign it, and have it framed. Later that day I went to my doctor for my annual check-up. He was surprised to see that my blood pressure, which had been somewhat over normal in the recent past, nothing to worry about, yet the doctor always said was now considerably reduced. Youre like a young buck. There may be a medical explanation for my reduced blood pressure, but I had been so satisfied with the painting of those clouds, I prefer to believe that the relaxation that resulted from having made that painting of the clouds is responsible. . “Heavy hearts, like heavy clouds in the sky, are best relieved by the letting of a little water.”Christopher Morley
