Artwork Description:
Hyacinthe Baron's collector Patrick Trower commissioned the portrait of his wife, daughter and son to add to his large collection of Hyacinthe's paintings, drawings, lithographs, books and sculpture.
The portrait is an entry in the Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2006 for the reopening of the National Portrait Gallery at the Smithsonian. The expressionistic technique uses minimal applications of paint, and relies on masterful drawing technique to impart the feeling and emotional qualities of the subjects.
Hyacinthe has accomplished portraits of many celebrities including Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, Martha Raye and Joan Crawford and so many others.
Hyacinthe's portraits are prized by the subjects for the skill of execution and the intensity of the artist's non verbal ability to impart the essence of the subject's personality.
