Artwork Description:
I remember a famous Life Magazine cover that was published during the Vietnam War. It was titled “The blunt reality of war in Vietnam” and showed “A Vietcong, mouth taped for security, held prisoner by the US Marines”. I was struck by how this reflected the issue of racism in the US today and so I created a modern day version of this magazine cover painting a small coloured boy who is imprisoned in the world of racism.
I hope that the viewer will see and feel the pain and frustration that the Afro-American community have had to endure for centuries.
The painting is framed and is ready to hang, will be professionally packaged and delivery will be fully tracked, insured and free. The painting will come with a signed certificate of authenticity.
