Artwork Description:
This historic covered bridge near Huffman, Indiana, is at the site of the Huffman Mill, where Abraham Lincoln and his father, Thomas, brought their corn to be ground. The Lincolns would sleep-over in a cabin out in a field directly to the right in the painting. I was able to have a long conversation with an elderly female Huffman descendant, who was living in a house close by the site of the old mill. I will add details of my conversation with her as I come about them. Collection Rodney Schaefer, Tell City, Indiana.
