Artwork Description:
This oil portrait was done early in my art life, Aug. 26, 1972, only 15 months after I began to paint. It was done in four hues: a red, a yellow, a blue and a green. The exact same four pigments were used for the same-sized portrait of Dr. Mood's wife, Stephanie Eble, finished on Aug. 28, 1972. This oil portrait of John Mood was given to him and his wife out of friendship. It was either destroyed or thrown out by Dr. Mood or his wife prior to the 1990's, according to the first-hand testimony of the Moods themselves.
