Artwork Description:

St. Peter s Basilica is an Italian Renaissance church in Vatican City, the papal enclave within the city of Rome. St. Peter s is the most renowned work of Renaissance architecture and the largest church in the world. I chose to depict its splendor and majesty at dusk because of it s impact to one s senses. The Grand Canal is lined up with a lot of buildings and many different passage ways around the city. Many tourists take advantage of the romantic transport, with a gondola ride along the canal, Unfortunately when I visited there was a storm and I remember this gondola fighting against the natural force of the water. This scene left a lasting memory in my mind.
