Oil on Gesso on board. Emil Nolde was an early Expressionist Painter, in Germany, in the 1920-40s. In his youth Nolde sometimes painted with berry juice. [ The land of Nolde, it seems to me, encompasses, towards the North Sea, the Terran origin, so consistently, of major expressionist and pro-expressionist painters. [ the German Expressionists, the C. O. B. R. A. group, deKooning, Van Gogh, Halls, Rembrandt... }] In Europe or, rather, from Earth herself, grow Expressionist Painters, naturally, from just there, like ginseng grows from certain North Carolina mountainsides, or blood root or mica. ]
