Shortly narrating, in this story Sohni used to cross the river holding an empty vessel made of clay upside down, facilitating herself to swim the rough flow of the river, to meet her lover. In one stormy night when she was crossing the river her vessel broke down midway and she begain to drown, hearing her cries for help, Mahiwal (her lover) knowing well, that its not possible to swim the river in such conditions could not stop himself from jumping into the stream to save his beloved.--------and both of them never saw the bank again. Descripition:- In this painting, a small injury on the foot of Sohin make her lover restless, and his carying touch gives a feeling of contentment to his beloved.
