Artwork Description:
Ganesha or Ganapati is the most well known Hindu deity. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rites and ceremonies and worshipped before beginning any task.
Ganesha has the head of an elephant and body of a human. According to Hindu mythology, he was created by the Hindu goddess Parvati using clay to protect her. The deity Shiva beheaded him when Ganesha came between Shiva and Parvati. Shiva then replaced Ganesha s original head with that of an elephant.
Since Ganesha is the god of wisdom and transcendence, many people call upon him to mediate. He provides guidance and helps find inner peace. This art has captured that peace joy the woman has found while meditating upon Ganesha. There is tranquility everywhere.
